Creepy Snickers Commercial

I think falls into the category of, “What were they thinking?” Maybe they were aiming for the scary/creepy vibe for Halloween.

SO, you’re shopping, apparently alone in this dimly lit grocery store, and you make a left down the candy aisle and see…this!
Your response?

It made me lose my appetite. The last thing I want to do right now is eat candy.

i thought it was hilariously refreshing. creepy? maybe. but it’s halloween!

Creeps me right the fuck out. Almost as bad as the year I wore a red and yellow MUMU, a blonde wig, make-up, and made a faux “Mom” tattoo in a arrow pierced heart on my hairy bicep, as a server at Halloween. Mind, I had a Goatee.

I love snickers though, that commercial couldn’t deter me or change my consumer habits.

I didn’t find it that creepy because it was obviously two kids in an oversized coat and mask.

The Lady Lane-Fairchild voice the kid on top did was pretty weird though.

I need to second this; I loves me a Snickers, and no commercial is going to change that.

That mask creeps me right the hell out. Someone pointed out that it looks like Jocelyn Wildenstein, and I think that’s my problem. http://www.thelmagazine.com/images/blogimages/2009/12/14/1260804583-jocelyn_wildenstein_2_.jpg

Creepy as hell until the last few seconds, and then it became funny. It’s like two kids couldn’t figure out how to dress up like a normal woman using the stuff from the Halloween aisle, and made the best of it.

I thought it was hilarious. I’m still giggling actually.

It’s creepy when they reach out and caress her face.

But the Canadian Killer Colonel trial photos really, really, creep me out. Sometimses transvestitism is serious. There’s a weird cut-off.

It’s a really creepy commercial, but it’s one of my favorite on right now.

That was distinctly an adult voice-character-actor’s voice. It was not the voice of the children or possibly dwarf actors.

Definitely very creepy. The first few times I was put-off by this, thinking “what the hell Snickers? don’t you know how scary you’re being?”

Now, however, I think it’s hilarious. It’s so over-the-top creepy, despite it being two kids trying to do something ostensibly innocent. I think that’s why it works. The dim lighting, the awful costume, the mannerisms - just kids who wanted some candy and this is what they came up with. They lack the awareness to see how creepy they are in fact being, but since the audience can see it, it’s all very funny.

Isn’t there a series of children’s books with a character that looks like that? I can’t remember if it was a substitute teacher or a babysitter or nanny. I just remember a children’s book illustration that was very similar.

It’s not really creepy, just…odd.

Very odd.

But not creepy.

Was that a Julia Child mask?

More likely the classical but misused Midgets. Gentically midgets not Dwarfs,

I could tell if Vern Troyer or Wee Man narrated a movie.
