If someone starts kicking in your door, I think the last thing you’d do is spend the time typing that in… and with perfect grammar and capitalized, no less.
Who sits at the computer and continues to not only write out a post, but submit it too, all while under the impression that your life is in danger?
I’d be hot off the chair with the phone in my hand trying to figure out what the hell was going on.
Methinks someone has either an odd sense of humor that’s completely backfiring, or someone wants some serious attention.
As bad as that may be, I hope that’s the case. Because if it isn’t, who knows what’s going on, and who knows what can be done about it. That’s really the bitch here, if it is happening, there doesn’t seem to be a damn thing people can do about it.
A friend of mine disappeared for a while. I would talk to her avery one or two weeks. When she didn’t answer her phone or return my messages or e-mails for several weeks, I was concerned that something may have happened to her. I was tempted to jump on a plane and fly up to see if she was okay. I called “one more time” and she answered. Turns out that she had just been busy.
I don’t think it’s unreasonable for someone who is already typing a message to add “IT’S BACK!” and send it off before going off to investigate or before the door fails. Yes, it could be a prank. But it also might not be.
If anyone knows sqrl’s address, it might be a good idea to get the manager of his building to check it out as Ayesha said. Or call the police and refer to this thread to give them probable cause to enter his dwelling.
Of course, it could have been a little joke by a friend of his who “kidnapped” him for a romantic weekend. I don’t know him, so it is up to his friends to decide how to proceed.
If Sqrl thought the random jiggling was back, and believed it was just random again, he may have typed the last line and posted it as a joke. But then maybe something unexpectedly bad happened, because the jiggling wasn’t random.
I hate this sort of thing. You know how you watch a horror movie and the lead girl goes into the basement to investigate a weird noise? And you yell at her, “Stupid girl! Why are you doing that? Call the police!” because you know there’s a murderer on the loose.
But when I’m home alone and I hear a strange noise, I always check it out. I mean, if I just ran to the neighbors or called the police and it was nothing, I’d look really dumb and hysterical, right?
And everytime I do that, I remember the movies when someone went to check out a strange sound and never came back.
Sqrl, please tell us you’re all right.

If you can include that line- in the midst of trying times- it’s your duty to follow up on it regardless of whether it’s a ‘good’ time to do so or not.
You can’t put that line in there and not do that.

This has to be an extreme example of what can happen. Prank or whatever – we all need to know.
My best-case scenario is that there was some sort of emergency, someone had a small accident and went to the hospital or something, and someone else came to get Sqrl to tell him about said emergency (maybe couldn’t call 'cause he was online?) and he hasn’t got back to us because he’s too busy with the hypothetical emergency.
We can hope.

What the heck time is it in Sqrl’s area? It’s 1:11 PM here and I’m on the West Coast, so it’s gotta be fairly well into Saturday. It’s been over an hour since I first noticed this, and I’m already freaked. I gotta go for a while, but by the time I get back on, Sqrl WILL have been found, and WILL be okay, RIGHT?!
