Does anyone know what Meeko means? He needs to seriously grow up.
You’re probably right. One caveat: there are more claims coming, and we need to hear them. Even Meeko might be swayed by logic if the right claims are made. Also, it might not be lynch or lose…depends on the numbers. If there are 3 blackhearts then town voting needs look a lot different (also if rystro turns out to be a blackheart that’s one less vote for that side).
I played with Peeker in one of his first(if not actually his first) games here. I will state, with no doubt or questions in my mind at all, that he was far more coherent and logical in that game than Meeko has been in this one. I kinda feel bad for the guy. It really seems to me that he’s having a really hard time grasping the concepts of the game. I would imagine he’s trying to fit it into a Haggle like framework, which really doesn’t work. I get the feeling he’s just latching onto anything and seeing if he can make it work, hence the reverse breadcrumb thing he threw at AllWalker(which doesn’t make the slightest bit of sense). What I mean is, Rysto and Allwalker claimed to have breadcrumbed their role and bits of it, and Meeko saw that and is trying to run with the concept. The problem of course is he’s completely misunderstand what it means.
You think Meeko’s odd? I feel like I’m inside a Chinese room. Apparently he’s been having these long, in-depth conversations with me, in some language I don’t know. It’s almost like there’s two Chronoi; myself, and the one Meeko was talking with, and I’m left wondering if there’s any way I can meet that other guy.
You were asking at one point what gave you away as the vote buyer. It’s entirely possible that the answer was "nothing’ because, as meeko demonstrates so well, people see patterns that don’t exist.
I think we have at least one more town power role out there. I’d love for people to finish claiming.
Allwalker
Role PM
You are Governor Bellingham. A young, up and coming man, you don’t know much about politics. But you are a man of the faith, as all politician must be, and are determined to weed out those who would oppose you.
Powers:
You are so pure you can never be infected with the seed of sin.
You have access to the secret official records kept in the governor’s office. Each night, you may research a player and see what they originated as–Pure, Sinner, or Blackheart.
If you are ostracized, you may do one final investigation before you leave. This investigation will be found by the town the next Day.
1.) If there is a cop, it’s allwalker.
2.) Rystro is giving people the slightly healed feeling.
3.) There’s something odd in the fact that Thing Fish and Mahaloth posted the exact some VP role PM as Joey (who went first) whereas Inner sticker’s was different.
4.) Thing Fish and Mahaloth are anti Allwalker
Questions:
Would pede send us into this game without a cop?
Do we expect a false doctor by the name of Roger Chillingworth?
“Roger Chillingworth - “Roger Chillingworth” is actually Hester’s husband in disguise. He is much older than she is and had sent her to America while he settled his affairs in Europe. Because he is captured by Native Americans, he arrives in Boston belatedly and finds Hester and her illegitimate child being displayed on the scaffold. He lusts for revenge, and thus decides to stay in Boston despite his wife’s betrayal and disgrace. He is a scholar and uses his knowledge to disguise himself as a doctor, intent on discovering and tormenting Hester’s anonymous lover. Chillingworth is self-absorbed and both physically and psychologically monstrous. His single-minded pursuit of retribution reveals him to be the most malevolent character in the novel.”
I think the “slightly healed feeling” would be a great mafia power. So, in my grand theory of the game: Lynch Rystro. If you’re allwalker, test thing fish or mahaloth. Inner sticker maybe as last sinner.
Ooh, good catch, Telcontar. I was thinking it a bit suspicious that we would have so many protective roles.
I’d love to update my computerized analysis with all this new information, but having three factions really complicates things-- I can’t assume that all non-Blackhearts are telling the truth, for instance.
On the other hand, everybody’s checked in now, and nobody’s claimed to have been Sinfected. I suspect that this means that there is no longer anyone with the power to Sinfect, which means paul3 was lying.
OK, I re-wrote my program, to account for all three factions. I’m assuming the following:
1: There are no fewer than 3 but no more than 4 Blackhearts left.
2: There are no more than 2 Original Sinners left, but possibly none.
3: All Town are telling the truth.
4: If paul3 is Town, then there exists at least one Original Sinner left, since he claimed to have been Sinfected yesterday.
5: If AllWalker is Town, then peeker is not a Blackheart. I’m not assuming he’s Town, because he might be an alpha.
6: If AllWalker is Town, then Rysto is a Blackheart.
7: There have been a relatively small number of Blackheart-on-Blackheart votes (this is an adjustable parameter in the program).
Is there any more known information that I’m missing?
Can someone adjust meeko’s meds? He’s gone bat-shit.
If there are four blackhearts, then good game to them. If there are three…
Rystro dies tomorrow, and Allwalker’s investigation of Thing-fish is, in my best guess, likely to hit paydirt. Results in three person mafia with 1 BH, and two sinner/town. I’d almost be leaning sinner victory.
I’m leaning Town on him myself. Mainly because there is nothing that says that scum can’t get a doctor like role. Especially when you consider there are three factions. A Blackheart Anti-Sinner doctor seems like a logical role for this game, and no one other than Allwalker is even considering the possibility. Meeko is so hung up on the fact that Rysto did something that protected him that he doesn’t see that that doesn’t automatically mean he is Town. I find it especially ironic since Ped has used a scum doctor role before, sort of. Molefan in Smash Brothers on the offboard site was a scum jack of all trades, and one of his abilities was doctor. It was just like Rysto’s claim here, the person targeted got a message that they were protected, and he used it early on on people(like Meeko) that were confirmed Town. Huge Town cred earned, and yet he was scum.
Oh and something else I forgot to mention. Meeko is doing it again. He’s latched onto a concept he doesn’t really understand and is riding it in ways it isn’t meant to be ridden. He did it before with the breadcrumb concept, and now he’s doing it with the no editing concept.
Yes, and his unwillingness to accept a paraphrase as being different than an edit is just mind boggling. Also, I’d probably have edited “sinner immune” out of my role pm if i’d posted it word for word; makes them waste a shot.
I still like my chillingworth as false doctor idea.
Gentleman’s wager, here: Rysto is Roger Chillingworth, and really does have a power that gives the target a healed feeling (which may or may not actually do anything). At least one of Mahaloth or Inner Stickler is also a Blackheart. peeker really is Reverend Dimmesdale, but his powers aren’t exactly as claimed.
I’d only disagree on the peeker point; I think he may be exactly as claimed (though he may have already been converted). So no bet :-P. If i read peeker’s power correctly, he can join the sinners as a full member (can infect, post on their board, etc). That;s plenty powerful all by itself.
Given the nine players, my guesses would be:
Allwalker (cop) +
Meeko (mason) +
Peeker (Dimsdale) +
Joey (town)
Inner (sinner)
Mahaloth (Mafia) +
Thing Fish (Mafia) +
Rysto (Chillingworth, mafia power role) +
Paul/Bill (town)
Assuming 2 sinners, 3 mafia, and 1 Dimsdale at the beginning. the plus signs indicate guesses of which I am especially confident. Today has actually been very quiet, apart from meeko. Makes me think that the scum board is seeing most of the activity. If i’m right about the initial distribution, i’d predict a sinner victory.
