Meanwhile, in California’s Senate primary (not-particularly-well-known-fact: even if a candidate gets a majority of the Primary vote, the top two advance to the November runoff), one of the Democratic candidates is President Cristina Grappo, and from the looks of things, that’s her real name.
Huckabee accidentally forwarded the message to Cruz.
No way… your profile says you live in NY… you don’t hear the blithering stupidity that routinely belches forth from the mouths Cruz and the rest of his Texas tea party bottom feeders, including but not limited to Greg Abbott, Ken Paxton, Dan Patrick, Louie Gohmert and Pete Sessions.
Trump’s a blowhard and obnoxious, but doesn’t seem to be an ideological zealot like Cruz, who I feel would let the country burn before betraying his political principles. Trump at least seems like he might be somewhat pragmatic when down to the actual business of governing.
Or maybe he just saw the writing on the wall. Kasich has never been a contender, for even one day, this entire race. Once Cruz dropped out, the idea of a contested convention faded away. Donald will hit his number. There’s nothing else to contest. Why go on punching the wall?
It’s really hard to make a choice between Trump and Cruz. Yes, Cruz is a distasteful immoral ideological extremist who would have been such an unprecedented disaster as president that it’s astounding his campaign ever got any traction. But the same can be said of Trump for entirely different reasons. Trump is a self-serving conniving attention-seeker, he’s pathologically insecure, he’s dumb as a brick, and if he isn’t an ideological zealot, it’s only because he has no discernible principles or values. The most amazing thing about his candidacy is how devoid it is of policy or substance, consisting basically of bumper sticker slogans designed to fire up ignorant bigots with shallow demagoguery. If there’s anything there that even hints at a chance for a successful presidency, it’s never been visible.
To be clear, the idea of a contested convention faded away when Trump was declared the winner of Indiana, not when Cruz withdrew.
It’s like when someone has been unemployed for years and finally gets a job - and the company folds a week later.
Couldn’t happen to a nicer person.
The party above principles (or country) has been in charge for 8 years now. So no surprise.
That Cruz’s problem. If it were Trump he’d get some nearby supporters to beat these people up.
Shucks, though. I could use a new TV, and if my California airwaves were full of Trump and Cruz ads I’d surely put my foot through the one I have.
- Nixon.
- Bush/Cheney/Rove.
Please, lecture me some more about principles.
Check out MSNBC’s front page. As far as I can tell, they’re always in black and white, and generally unflattering of their subjects, who at this point are overwhelmingly the candidates.
He wasn’t addressing you, one sentence isn’t a lecture, and you have no idea which party he’s talking about. Hope you wear a mouthguard when you knee jerk like that.
She was brought on to do the layoffs.
(I couldn’t believe that no losing ticket had a VP that had earlier lost the primary, but I think this might actually be true! She can win some trivia contests with this.)
“The party that has been in power for 8 years?” I don’t know what country you come from, but to me as an American that clearly implies the Democratic party. If he had said ‘4 years,’ the point would be debatable.
Shame on me for horning in on a public discussion. I can see and point out hypocrisy as well as anyone else.

Yeah, he is the king of the bare assertion. If elected, I guess he will be the “because I said so” president.
Under the original constitution that Cruz was fervently loyal to, he would have been ineligible to be President. It’s good to see him come to his senses and realize what a hypocrite he was.
Her new motto should be:
“Carly Fiorina! Good for something!”
