Custom Licence Plates — Seen in the Wild

“et” is “and” in both Latin and French. So, maybe, “KC and KC.” Which could be a reference to the two Kansas Cities (the bigger, more prominent one in Missouri, or the one across the border in Kansas), or two people whose initials are KC.

On a VW Taos: T WAGN.

Seen tonight on a g-wagon: LOVE LOW

Not sure what it means.

“Et” is surely meant to be “and” as somebody said above. I’m betting it’s a couple, maybe both named “Casey.” Or maybe one Casey and one initials “KC”. Or maybe both initials “KC” after the marriage. . .

Another interpretation…

“USA see the” but with bad Cherman pronunciation. As in “See the USA” which has been a slogan for some car company or maybe the national park system forever.

Think a southern accent: “ah be someone” meaning “I am someone [special / important / etc]”

A besom is a hand-tied broom associated with witchcraft. This was probably a Wiccan.

K_GUZMAN has a nicely outfitted Silverado

BMW WU on a hybrid Toyota Venza. No idea what that is for, probably their name is Wu.

They were parked right next to my motorcycle, a BMW.

EZEKI3L this morning, don’t remember the car it was on. I saw another one too this morning that was a real head-scratcher but I’ll be darned if I can remember what it was.

I saw this head-scratcher on a Dodge Ram truck 2 nights ago:
NUMBGUM
When I got close enough, I saw that the plate frame said POLICE SURGEON. It must be a dental surgeon?

YIN_YANG on a I don’t remember model small black sedan.

LVROWING

and

KAYAKNUT

on consecutive days. Some folks must be very happy spring is coming and the ice floes will disappear.

This morning:

997LADY on a Porsche 911 Carrera. 997 was Porsche’s internal code for the 2005-2013 911, and Porsche fans use those codes to refer to the different generations of the car. (I don’t really consider myself a Porsche fan; I had to look up what generation the 997 was, but I am enough of a car guy to know that those codes exist and that Porsche fans would call that car the “997”). I didn’t really get a look at the driver but I assume it was driven by a lady.

LAN CASH on a lifted Toyota 4Runner. Land Cash, maybe? Maybe the owner sold their land for cash and bought that truck? Or they’re a real estate developer who pays cash for land? Or I’m completely wrong.

Is there any area nearby with the name “Lancashire” or “Lancaster” or similar?

There’s a Lancaster, CA down by Palmdale, but that isn’t that close. That’s the only thing I can think of.

Or they rent out their local area network for cash?

TEAL FIN on a Ford Focus with a San Jose Sharks license plate frame. I assume it must be a Sharks reference, but not one that I get.

STL SLO on a Subaru that been “stanced” and with one of those aftermarket “fart can” exhausts. I like to think it means “still slow”, as in the driver is aware that those mods are just for show and don’t make the car and faster. But I guess it could also be a San Luis Obispo reference – It was on a California Arts Council specialty plate, which shows a beach scene.

Teal is one of the colors of the San Jose Sharks, and Fin, is of course those thingies that Sharks have to help them get around in the water. If you look at the logo, the shark in it is Teal colored.

One I saw yesterday that I could not figure out was NO␣OIL on a Tesla :winking_face_with_tongue:. I am sure they feel pretty good about themselves right now given the current world situation.

A co-worker had a VW bus. We are computer dudes.

The license plate on the VW bus was ‘ESC POD’

I think he bought it just so he could have that license plate.
