AZD RHD — obviously (likely?) a couple with those initials
2012 SFG!!!
The 2012 San Francisco Giants won their second World Series championship (their second in San Francisco; the NY Giants, before moving to San Francisco in 1958, had won some World Series championships).
I’m a big fan.
The interesting thing is that I got a custom plate for my wife when they won their first San Francisco championship. 15+ years ago she had it on her car but now it’s hanging on our garage wall. That one is:
2010 SFG!!! Pretty wild, right?
I could not meet that car with 2012 SFG because he was on the other direction of the interstate. But I wanted to!
Good haul this last ~36 hours.

APU⎵AS on a FL standard plate on a new top model Mercedes SUV. Nice car. Probably first name Apu and last name beginning “As …”
-
LL-3 on a New Hampshire standard plate on an SUV. Not very interesting. If it had been a Maine plate there might be some connection to L.L. Bean. But nope; it was definitely NH.
-
?NA⎵NANA on a FL standard plate on a car. The far left couple inches of the plate was obscured behind a black / blue / black vertically striped flag-like sticker.. So I don’t know what’s under the sticker represented by my “?”. It might be a space, in which case the sticker on the plate is probably just barely legal. Or if it’s obscuring an actual character that’s gotta be illegal.
Googling for that symbol suggests it’s a varation of the thin blue line law enforcement support flag. I find the idea of somebody showing their support for LE by committing the offense of obscuring their licence plate to be about par for the course. “Law and order is to protect me from you, not to protect you from me.” seems to be the common refrain from that crowd.
Setting aside the politics, the plate might be trying to say “neener neener”, or it might be about somebody’s grandma (“Nana”). Or “na nana” might be a respelling for Mork’s famous “Nanu nanu” greeting. Or even a reference to this classic tune:
-
MARGO⎵72 on a FL standard plate on a new-ish Volvo SUV. A 70-something guy was driving with a similarly aged woman riding shotgun. She’s Margo, and the car and plate might have been her birthday present a couple years ago? But why is he driving her car?
-
MAX⎵WYN on a FL standard plate on a new-ish Bronco. I didn’t hear the car making unusual whining noises, like some aftermarket turbo installations do. Not sure if they like wine, or whining, or maybe it’s a respelling for “winning”? Or the guy’s name is Maximilian Wynn?
-
JJLEDOC on a Quebec standard plate on a small Cadillac sedan. Maybe a name, maybe an occupation, maybe both, but extra points for being in French.

-
1TAKE on a Montana plate on a black Ferrari. The plate was completely black with white block letters. Montana offers a bewildering array of over 250 kinds of custom plates ( License Plate Lookup – MT Motor Vehicle Division), but none exactly like that.
So this is a custom-painted defacement of a real plate, or an aftermarket copy. Perhaps a well-paid showbiz type bought the car with the proceeds from one good take in a film.
That’s quite the haul!
HRH 356C on a Porsche 356C. Must be driven by a Princess. Or a Queen.
Or the car is the prince/princess.
This^^.
On a Follow the Golden Rule plate: BEEMAMA. An apiculturist, I assume.
White Honda Pilot with IN plate WA_WOO
HWY1GT4 on a sweet Porsche Cayman GT4. California’s Hwy 1 is the coast highway, known as the PCH in Southern California (Pacific Coast Highway), and is a beautiful and fun drive.
I figured either that or someone writes fan fiction and that’s their ship’s designation. I couldn’t find anything “official” either.
ALIKAT8 on a Mercedes crossover. At first I thought “Alley cat 8”, but then I also realized it could be “Allie Kate”. If it’s the latter, perhaps it’s a reference to the old sitcom Kate and Allie?
TO BLAAV — a classic one!
You keep using that word. I do not think it means what you think it means.
RIV RIVS in the grocery store parking lot. Non-descript SUV, no idea what it might mean.
WAT RUSH. Okay
Might be a Rivian R1T belonging to someone with initials RIV.
7TUANIS on a Toyota 4Runner. Likely another name, but if they’re squeezing 7 into that T4R that’s a tight fit. Unless the T4R has an aftermarket 3rd row.
ME OK. I’m glad you are.
Saw YUSEGAS on a Model Y.
EULAGRN. For… EULA grin?
Maybe they make all their green from the EULAs attached to their product. Or they’re a person who writes EULAs.
Spacing can go a long way to help.
A half space after the Y, for Y USEGAS would be so much better IMO.
Maybe that.
