Mac OS. That’s likely it!
This morning:
ZZ0ZZ on a Mazda3. Likely doesn’t mean anything, the owner just thinks Zs are cool. There was a frame that read “Always take the detour”.
USA UMP on a Cadillac crossover. An umpire, I presume. Don’t know if the “Fletcher Jones Las Vegas” frame has anything to do with it.
BD PLT on a Subaru. There was a BloodSource license plate frame, so based on that I’m guessing “blood donor something”, and that the driver is a medical technician who takes blood donations.
FWIW, Mazda used to have ads based on “Zoom, Zoom”. Maybe it’sa play on that? My brother used to have a Mazda RX-8 and he got Texas plates Z8M Z8M. That was pretty clever!
I’m a regular blood products donor with about 200 donations on my score card. PLT = platelets. So perhaps it’s Blood Donor, Platelets.
Fletcher Jones is a big auto dealership in Las Vegas. I bought from them when I lived there. I doubt it means more than that’s where they bought the car. Actually, now looking it up I see Fletcher Jones is a two-state auto-sales Empire: Fletcher Jones Locations | CA, NV
Scored a couple yesterday:
-
KS4G on a FL standard plate on a Toyota Tacoma pickup truck. No clue what that means.
-
CURE⎵T1D on a FL standard plate on a generic sedan. Had me scratching my head for a few minutes but I bet it’s “Cure type 1 diabetes”. Sounds like a noble if unlikely goal. Congenital auto-immune disfunction is a very complicated topic medical science is very far from getting a grip on.
-
NU⎵76⎵VT on a FL standard plate on an Escalade mongo SUV. Had me scratching my head until I got close enough to see the Norwich University license plate frame. Which happens to be in Vermont. Class of '76 would make the owner about age 71 now. See Norwich University - Wikipedia.
Saw R MORTIS in the Target parking lot and M1LL1E on the “pet friendly” specialty plate. Assuming the first one is someone in the mortuary field and the second is a pet’s name.
SICKNHZ
Sick and hurts
Just scored a Tesla Model S with VFAS.
For bonus coolitude he had an LED chaser thing attached to the lower center of the windshield. The lights went back and forth continuously just like the original 1980s version of
The driver was far too young to have seen that series in the original.
Damn. To decide to advertise that on a plate it’s gotta pretty well define their personality. Damned shame.
1FSTCAB, A yellow Camaro.
Last night I saw STIKKS on a California arts council plate on a Lexus SUV. They’re a big fan of the band Styx? They live way out in the sticks? I don’t recall any stickers or anything for context.
Could be a drummer, too; “Sticks” is a common nickname for drummers.
Pet pony? As in, what they wished for as a child and now have?
Yeah that’s better. Pet Pony.
So far:
STI6 on a Subaru STI
YES JAZZ
Saw what I think was JOVAD on a cute little blue Mini-Cooper this morning. Not quite sure because I’ve mentioned before that it’s hard to tell zeroes from O’s from D’s on Indiana plates. Then I saw the driver of said cute little blue Mini-Cooper. Tattooed buff looking dude with a military style buzzcut haircut… ![]()
More:
STAN 105 almost sounds like an FM radio station
Z MOCHA
NINEY
GENNNY on a Hyundai Genesis; if her name is Jenny that’d make it extra clever
CHAN UK
MR ZUZU
Z MOCHA again. On the afternoon commute, after seeing it on this morning’s commute.
I’m done for the day. I’m home now and don’t anticipate stepping out again.
On a big, black Ford pickup: DZLQ33N. Diesel Queen, I’m guessing. They were in front of me only briefly and it was dark, so I couldn’t see the driver…
I see many, almost on a daily basis, but I have been too distracted? lazy? or BUZ1 to post them.
It seems to be my IN8␣N8UR to try to insert humor into almost any situation, some of my colleagues think it is a BLSING others that I have a LOOSCRW. I did not stop the LOST␣TXN or DREWLEE to ask what they thought, which it good because they might have just said GET(a1)WAY. For me it just a way to B␣SANE in this world where the US government is seeking out DWOK1 and targeting T3RH4N.
Well that is all for now so I won’t be L84WRK. I will post again L8R.

1The “a” in this case came form the license plate design which features a Gadsden flag making the coiled snake appear in between the GET and WAY. Personally, from a distance that design looks like a cow manure pile since you can’t make out it is a snake until you get close enough.
Not too different. At least the poop has a happy friendly demeanor. Gadsden not so much. So when I see one of those yellow traitor flags I just mentally paste a poop emoji in the center. Soo much happier.
[Sorry those images are so big. I couldn’t find any of a reasonable size; it was teeny icons or page-fillers.]
This morning:
ARCHRFM on a Rivian. We were in the city of Folsom, CA at the time, which is sometimes abbreviated FM. So I’m guessing the driver is an archer who lives in Folsom. Unless “Archer FM” is the name of a radio station. There was also a frame that read “The stars shine brighter in Truckee, CA”. So there’s a slight possibility it’s got something to do with Truckee or maybe astronomy, but I am sticking with my explanation.
MISSRGP on a Mercedes sedan. Looks like we’ve got a beauty queen here (although I didn’t get a look at the driver), or at least a wannabe beauty queen. There was even a sparkly frame that I’m guessing was meant to evoke a tiara. Not sure what RGP means, though. Is that a common abbreviation for a place, or something else?
