Custom Licence Plates — Seen in the Wild

That’s my guess. I doubt they had a ½ space (or any space) available to them because that :black_heart: character is quite wide.

Maybe Aunty War Bucks provided them with the truck, or some (all?) of the money to buy it.

XP33 First responder plate. No clue.

All this time and I’ve not mentioned my own plate: BRCRNGR Black Rock City Ranger.

On a Toyota Highlander: HOTK9 :black_heart: R The vehicle was parked, so I am unable to comment on the hotness of the dog-loving owner.

On one of those ubiquitous Ford Transit vans: LOKSMTH

And on a BMW SUV: PACMAN Someone into the game, or maybe politically active?

He likes gobbling up those little white slow-moving round nondescript pellet cars the proles drive?

Or, maybe, the owner is in love with a hot canine?

N33D GA5 on an older Chevy something or other. Had to look at it twice to make sure my eyes weren’t playing tricks on me because it looked close to a normal plate but one too many characters.

Today’s haul:

ASR1360
TEA RUN
PUPPY P on a Puppy Pampers company truck
SOLR JET
CAPT V8R
CRISAMA maybe a play on charisma if their name is Cris

Cool.

One last one for today: WHTSLCL

For What’s Local? That’s my guess.

Any idea what that means? I’m baffled.

Here’s my day’s worth; I wasn’t able to take great notes & lost a lot of details & a couple whole plates:

  • GFOUR on a FL 5-character University of Miami booster plate. No idea what it means.

  • MERRYL⎵K on a FL standard plate.

  • IIMII on a FL 5-character “in god we trust” booster plate. No idea.

  • ASC⎵CHE on a FL 7-character turtle conservation booster plate. His’n’hers initials?

  • TEAMC22 on a FL standard plate on a Jeep Sahara 4-door. I’d assumed at the time that “C22” was the model code for that Jeep, but that’s not correct. Maybe it stands for “Catch-22”?

  • H⎵⎵1636 on a FL standard plate. Huh? If we assume the usual letter/number conversion, “1636” decodes to “AFCF” which makes no sense either.

  • FBX on a FL 5-character Tampa Bay Bucs NFL booster plate. FB for football probably. The X?

  • PNGTR on a FL 5-character Miami Heat NBA booster plate on a fancy pickup. He’s an -er who pngts? PNTR for painter would be easy. But the G leaves me lost. “Gtr” might be “greater”

Yesterday, southbound 5 before Bellingham: COMICON.

“GTR” is an abbreviation for “guitar,” particularly used by music industry professionals (musicians, engineers, producers). Might be a guitarist, with PN being, well, I’m not sure.

Seen this morning, in Green Bay, Wisconsin: GBSW NMU, on a standard Wisconsin plate. It’s almost undoubtedly a reference to the owner’s alma maters: Green Bay Southwest High School, and Northern Michigan University (which is located in the Upper Peninsula, about a 3-hour drive north from Green Bay).

ASR1360? NFC!

Only 1 today: CCASITA

I ended up taking the wife out for dinner and dessert. We’re celebrating. A few more.

EGO DRIV on a nice, new BMW 3 sedan. Not an M, just a basic 3. That’s one proud owner there.
SVEN L on a neighbor’s car. I don’t know him. Yet.
RICH HOW on a new Porsche Macan. A bit bold, dontcha think?

(The celebration is because it’s the 28th anniversary of her kidney and pancreas transplant. Yay us!)

What a haul I made today. All of these, I got today. Here are the notes I took for the ones I wasn’t able to get pics of for one reason or another. I think I later was able to get pics on some of them. I lost track lol.

5CENIC on silver Rivian

ZEUS EV on an F150 Lightning (Ford’s electric pick-up. I thought that would be today’s winner, but… see below.

WTRWGN on large SUV.

RO8D TRP on large SUV.

 MLOVEE on a sedan

Saw another F150 lightning with dlr plates. Notable to me because I’d never noticed I was seeing one before and here I got two in one day. Maybe I had seen them, but in that quiet parking lot the electric vehicles were more noticeable.

GRY G05T - Grey Mustang GT. Not sure if that was a zero or oh.

SMYLIN-1 on an SUV. VA American flag plate with that “In god we trust” printed on the plate.

N8TR GRL on an F150. Young woman driving.

BATL CRI - I got to ask the driver what her battle cry was, and she said it was the original battle cry, “Micheal.” Maybe I misheard her?

BAR V on a Lexus

CARD GUY on a Toyota.

And now… the pics. In each case, these were pretty much the best I could do with the limited time I had to step away from what I was doing to get closer.

And then, this young woman arrived. Cool outfit, I told her, and asked if I could take her picture, so she posed. High-rez image, worth zooming in.

Her heels were very loud on the pavement.

I couldn’t make this one out from where I was standing and couldn’t move in time to get a better angle. When I zoomed and cropped this came out better than I expected. Still can’t decipher it:

Lovely car. Had to get multiple angles on this one, glad it stayed there a long time:

That one was on a Parrotheads specialty plate:

See who they left in the car at the top of the image.

BATL CRI - I got to ask the driver what her battle cry was, and she said it was the original battle cry, “Micheal.” Maybe I misheard her?

Whew, this post took a long time to make. 10 internet points to who correctly guesses what I was doing today that gave me the opportunity to snarf so many interesting plates. :car: :placard: :sweat_droplets: :sun: :camera: :school:

Just two tonight:

CAMPWGN on a Cadillac SUV. That seemed slightly incongruous; I don’t really associate Cadillac with outdoorsy activities, even if it is an SUV.

ZHDAN on a Tesla. “ZH Dan”? I don’t know what ZH would mean there though.

I did see 997LADY again tonight, too, but I posted that one here already.

I was curious, so I googled “zhdan,” and it looks like it’s a Slavic surname, as well as an Egyptian surname.

@Ponderoid that is quite the haul! I especially like the TYRANIS one.

TERRALU on a GMC Terrain. That could be a name, or given the vehicle it was on it could be that the car’s name is “Terra Lu”.

SHYREEN on a Hyundai Tuscon. Again, I’m guessing that’s a name.

NBC 10 on a black Honda Civic Si. That is not our local NBC affiliate (in fact the ABC affiliate is on channel 10 here). I’m guessing the owner works (or worked) for that station in some other market.

STRNTH on a breast cancer awareness plate… I’m assuming “strength” maybe?
