I saw GOON1ES today.
Just saw my first one in the wild yesterday, a Washington state J.P. Patches license plate. With an initial cost of $157.25 and an additional $30 a year, I don’t think I will be getting one soon.
Not just confuse the cops, but also any witness of a tragic event. Those plates are confusing to read.
Maybe they just like the Manamana song
Today I saw an F-Type Jaguar. Very nice car to look at, much fun to drive, but an unreliable POS to own.
Anyhow the plate said BAGL CTY. It was parked in front of a breakfast / deli place named, yep, “Bagel City”. Evidently the deli business can be profitable.
Today I saw a Mini Cooper S with the cute but notso original plate of MINII ME. Presumably the version with MINI was already taken.
Yesterday I saw a family wagon sort of thing with CORAL DR. Perhaps a marine biologist?
Best for last:
Here in FL there are many themed plate backgrounds available. One of which celebrates the US Navy Blue Angels who are home-based at NAS Pensacola. This plate style, in common with many of the specialty styles, uses about 40% of the plate width for the pretty picture & slogan, leaving room for just 5 characters for the vehicle’s actual ID in the remaining 60%.
I encountered a fairly stock F-150 pickup with the Blue Angels background and the ID A1ABV.
“A one above”
I kept trying to work from A1A and/or Alcohol By Volume.
That’s why knowing the plate background is commemorating a military jet aerobatic team is an important part of the story.
RAGNCJN on a car driving across San Marcos Pass Road north of Santa Barbara yesterday.
Ragin’ Cajun
A good one. At first I thought it was just someone’s gibberish but after figuring out how to pronounce it- click.
M8K1TSO
I wonder if the owner is bald and like to wear knits.
Was it a rental car?
I saw POOTER 1 today on a rattletrap Toyota. Not sure what it means, but it was different.
I’m in Santa Barbara for the Porsche 356 western states gathering and saw several personalized plates. Many had 356 in them.
Great pix: thanks.
Today I saw JDS EQNX.
Which makes more sense when I tell you it was attached to a Chevy Equinox, a midsized SUV. I bet JD was driving too.
Yeah I was guessing a Chevy Equinox too before you said it.
In addition to being a toy that makes fart sounds, it’s also, I’m learning, the name of device for catching bugs.
And I just realized I made one of these when I was in grade school. We had to invent something, so I stuck two hoses in a coffee can lid. Connected one to a vacuum and used the other one to suck up legos or other similarly small toys, which would be collected in the can.
