I’d probably go with Animal Farm, but an animal pharmacist is a real thing.
Ooooh, I had not even considered that one. I bet you win.
I’d also wonder whether there was a pharmacy around there (or around wherever the car came from) with a name similar to, or with the initials of ANM.
I saw one yesterday, NY plate with the Yankees logo, then justified all the way right was “IQ”. I’ve never seen plate letters/numbers justified that way.
I saw a Chevy Cruze econobox with the FL standard background license plate 488 MPH. That ### XXX pattern might just be an ordinary plate in some states, but is not where we are.
Which got me thinking. That’s about 390 knots, so sorta slow for a jet, but faster than anything else, and certainly faster than a Cruze. I wonder what this guy’s thought process was? e.g. “What goes 488 mph but not 489 or 475?”
As I get a little closer & take off my cheapo sunglasses to see more clearly I notice it’s really 48B MPH. Which is a current FL standard pattern. Oh well. Mystery unsolved but invalidated.
To make up for that false alarm a few minutes later I saw a slightly jacked-up pickup truck with the plate STIK FGR. Obviously “stick figure”, but to what intent? The truck had no other signs or bumper stickers and as lifted pickups go this was pretty mild, almost factory looking. Made me wonder what he meant.
Well, “488 MPH” could be “For 88 MPH,” but that plate should only be on a DeLorean.
Took me a little while to figure this out. Well played!
Probably not the answer, but perhaps the truck has a manual transmission?
It was a 2020 at the earliest, and maybe newer. Off top of head I doubt any recent US full-sized pickup is even offered in manual. Not willing to do the research to be certain.
Yeah, probably not. Might be the owner’s nickname, or just some reference that’s obscure even by our standards.
I know this isn’t a license plate but there doesn’t seem to be a better thread for this.
Saw a pickup truck yesterday with “LETTERKENNY” in giant block letters across its tailgate, complete with a Pupper’s dog logo in the middle.
Legen-Dary. Pitter patter, let’s get at 'er.
In last few minutes I spotted BITS 2 and MUUVOVER. Then when I was looking at one of the pictures I took for the Most Interesting Car thread, I happened to notice an unrelated car with PSYDUCK. No idea what that one might mean.
A Pokémon, perhaps?
Definitely a Pokemon - was the car yellow?
More of a light gold/beige/tan, maybe?
(The Subaru, not the Lincoln)
Interesting, the Subaru has a Kennedy bumper sticker and the Lincoln had a campaign sign for Nixon in the back window.
Even before seeing the pix I was going to suggest that PSYDUCK had something to do with psychology. Noting that “odd duck” is a mostly archaic term for “eccentric, and not in a good way.”
Now that I see the Kennedy sticker I’m sure the plate stands for “Psychologically unhealthy very odd duck”. Regardless of whether the owner intended that message, that’s the one it plus the sticker delivers.
[aside]
That is a great ancient vintage Lincoln. The Nixon sticker is a masterstroke.
Meant to post this here, but got sidetracked after also posting it over here:
I saw a very ridiculously bright blue Rolls Royce convertible w matching bright blue top. Pennsylvania plate said HOSALE.
One can only wonder at the mind behind those decisions.
Operates a train store, specializing in HO scale model trains.
I’m certain that that’s it.
