The world’s greatest authorities on driving are students in driver’s ed!
Home - yay! **FCD **is snoring on the couch, with his puppy by his side. Taz is between me and my keyboard - he’s such an attention whore! No idea what supper will be.
That pretty much sums up my afternoon. Huzzah for the end of the work week!
So, I spent my birthday (which is nominally part of the weekend) shopping, then cooking, then hosting father and siblings and families… Ah well. It was fun, but now I’m tired.
Special Teen is going to need a new nick… she’s turning 20 tomorrow, so she isn’t going to be a teen any more. I feel old…
More {{{}}} for **Taters **-- because I think you need as many as you can get.
I was discussing things with Spiney Doc yesterday, and why things still hurt. We tried facet joint injections to no great benefit, and physical terrorism, which made things worse, and he raised the idea of trying another nerve root injection. I said the last one didn’t do much, so he rechecks the records (They have a fabulous online system) and it turns out the injection done last year was at a different level than what appears to be causing the pain. :smack:
So, next Friday, Spiney Doc will be needling me at what we hope is the right location. Gah!
I’m really getting tired of all this, and it mildly disturbs me that the front desk staff at Spiney Doc’s office know me by name as soon as I walk in.
Howdy from da cave. I am awaitin’ pizza as OYKW is bringin’ it when he shows up. I have ordered it so my part is done.
Apes sorry you’re feelin’ so down about the MIL visit. Hopefully hubby will have a talk with her. I have no words of wisdom to impart but I wish I did.
I don’t know what came over me - I got all domestical and now I have 2 punkin pies baking away in the oven!
My sweetie will be surprised when he wakes from his nap. He should also be pleased that Higgs refrained from peeing and pooping in the house - she didn’t exactly tell me she needed to go out, but she went with me willingly three times and did her thang! So yay! She recognizes the word “outside” - now if only she’d learn to say it!
I’m thinkin’ I’d like burgers for supper - wish there was a burger fairy that delivered to my neighborhood. Oh well… I’ll figger something out.
Don’t know what to have for dinner. I made chili a few weeks back and pulled some of that out of the freezer and had that for lunch. There’s another bowl left but that can be lunch tomorrow.
I wish the Chinese place down the road still delivered.
The day sure goes fast when you don’t wake up until 10am.
Well Swampy you could roll them up with jelly inside, or cut them into strips and dip them in syrup. Then again you could just balance a plate on your lap, steer with your knees, and use a knife and fork. Could get a little messy. How hard is it to get syrup out of fur?
Having a decent day today; got a cheque for the first batch of felt my parents are selling for me (they probably shouldn’t be giving me money before they’ve even sold any, but I’m too poor to object too much…), and I’m basically all set and ready for the stall tomorrow- I’ve not got a mass of things, but enough to make it worthwhile, and I’m not sure how much space I’ll have.
Got a job interview on tuesday- nothing exciting, but for something I know I could do fine, within walking distance. I generally interview OK if I’m not too stressed about it, and I won’t be, as it’s not something awesomely amazing.
Oh, and it sounds like someone’s moving into the top flat again, please let them be quiet people with a basic level of common sense! It’s not too much to ask, is it?
By the way, when I was a kid, I used to really get stressed when my Mum would have a coke while driving (at traffic lights or on really quiet, straight roads), 'cos I totally misunderstood the ‘Don’t Drink and Drive’ campaign…
Sari I could maybe put syrup in the pancake batter. I saw the most brilliant thing ever on faceook btw. Put bacon on the griddle and pour pancake batter over it! I coul have bacon, pancakes and syrup while drivin’. It just could not be more win-win!
N.O.T., I am so sorry about your father’s passing; you’re in my thoughts and prayers.
Happy (somewhat belated!) birthday, SpecialOne! Good luck on finding a new nickname for your soon-to-be-20 y.o., though!
You’re in my thoughts too, Apes, sending support to help you remember to turn OFF your listening ears when your MIL starts in. There are not enough words for narcissists or borderline-personality-disorder people.
FCM, glad to hear that your soup turned out so great - but of course, because it had tarragon in it. Good luck with Higgs, btw - at least she went outdoors and did her thing when she should!
Rosie’s .sig for anyone I forgot! So glad it’s the weekend, and more glad tomorrow is the 1st. LOL YAY!
People are so weird. I received an email from another member of our church Vestry asking why I had not chimed in with my thoughts on a proposal, via email, from our Senior Warden concerning a raise for YP. I replied that I had voiced my opinion in my reply to the Senior Warden. See, there have been several emails of the “reply all” kind from other members of the Vestry, but not all, including me being as I know how to reply to just one person in an email. I’m all smart like that. He emails me back acting all hurt that I didn’t reply to everyone.
Get over it I say. I replied to the person who needed to know my opinion. FTR, I am all far the amount of the raise.
OMGthankgoodnessIcouldlogonagain!!! Had to do a “factory reset” on my phone and I lost all my notes and, therefore, my codes. So I’ve been locked out of my email till just now.
THANKS EVERYBODY for your kind thoughts and wishes regarding my mom. It really does help to get through this rough patch. TATERS you and your dad are in my thoughts as well.
It’s been a blurfy day of aggravating people and paperwork. Now to go harra-- I mean inquire about my pay check. Last time it was seen was in Virginia. Any MMPers in the vicinity keep an eye out for a confused Californian check,'kay? It’s probably looking for a beach and saying ‘dude’ a lot.
