Cyber Monday MMP

So I got that going for me, which is kinda nice. <Carl Spackler>

At irk, just hanging around. I was at irk on Friday (on of 3 people in the entire hospital, just kidding, but it was a ghost town) so I’m totally caught up and will probably find creative ways to waste the day.

Leftover pork stuff from the slow cooker for lunch. I owied my ankle over the weekend so I don’t know what kind of exercise I can do. Swimming perhaps but that is such a PITA after work.

Well woo and hoo. I just received an email with a hotel confirmation for a conference in beautiful downtown or somewheres thereabouts Stone Mountain, Jawja in January. This is some kinda Marriot (Mariott? Marriott?) resort place. The middle of January in north Jawja. Maybe I can hope for an ice storm just before I have to go so it’ll be cancelled. Yeah, I’m all excitated about this.

What? You’re getting it on with Laurence Fishburn?

I wonder if Papajohns has any Cyber Monday deals. I want pizza.

The good thing about Cyber Monday is no one is going to get in a fight and pull a gun when someone cuts them in line

The phone company has already been here and phone service has been restored!

Mornin’ all!

StickyBuns, congrats on your A - well earned and well deserved!

I had a very nice/quiet Thanksgiving weekend. I ended up spending the day itself by myself, and while I thought I’d be lonely, mostly I was just very relaxed and sluglike. I think I spent most of the day online and watching an NCIS marathon. Friday, I drove down to Austin and spent the weekend with my best friend from high school. Much time was spent shaking our heads in confusion about how it was surely not possible we could actually be this old.

On Saturday, I went with her to San Antonio to take her dad out for a birthday lunch. I haven’t been to San Antonio for . . . fifteen years?!. That’s just wrong. I am determined to spend more time there. Maybe a weekend or something. We went past my old high school. Now, I knew they’d completely re-done the campus, but it was a mindbender to see all of the old buildings completely gone, and the towering new one looming over the entire neighborhood. I have a large problem with most school architecture - especially non-California schools - because they look like warmer and fuzzier prisons. I know this is because school officials want to control the student population and there are concerns about HVAC costs, but . . . ew. No matter how pretty they make it, it’s still a prison. (SoCal, on the other hand, still tends to build campuses as multiple buildings with quads, classrooms open directly to the outside, and there’s at least a little room to breathe.)

Sunday, I spent way too long in traffic, picked the cats up from my brothers, and when I left this morning, I cooped them up in my bedroom with their litterboxes and food, because the apartment office is sending someone to repair my shower, which has been out of commission for a week. The cats are cooped up because one of them wants to grow up to be Houdini, and I haven’t exactly paid my pet deposit. sigh

There’s phoukaroo! I’ve been looking around here for you because I know what tomorrow is!

I got 3 pizzas for less than $40.00

But it wasn’t anything special since they have the $9.99 large three topping pizza deal every week.

Apes it would have been cheaper but Papa John has to charge more for healthcare for his garage elevator or sump’n like that.

StickyBuns yay for gettin’ the phone thing done already. Now you can go be productive.

Woah, I used to go there when I was a wee tot. By wee tot I mean I was still wetting my pants. It wasn’t entirely my fault though. When you’d ride the open, antique train around Stone Mountain a bunch of yelping Indians would jump on board and accost the southern belle in period dress that just happened to be sitting near the front. My little sister would clutch at her non-existant bosum and scream “You can’t have my dress!” and me, I’d soak the floor of the train car.

Ah, memories.

OMG, the skies just opened up

O_0

Morning. Still sick. At work actually being semi-productive.

Blurf.

I’d wager that, given the choice, she’d join them! I know I would.

Blurfy blurf to all

Hooray!

I’m so happy I’m almost ready to cry. My grade for the summer class just changed from “IP” to “A”!!!

Okay, that’s it!
My Second shall call upon in the morning, Sir!
Rosie: Try to get him to choose brick bats at half a mile.
And for goodness sake, after 10:00 AM. These Georgians seem to awaken at the crack of dawn.

Or, just send this Morpheous person over and he can cradle me in his arms instead of you. :stuck_out_tongue:

Yay for the grade change finally StickyBuns! I’ve been doin’ a lot of yayin’ for you today.

Feel better mmmmmms!

Apes rumor has it the sky will open up here tomorrow. I’ll believe it when I sees it.

Last of the Turkey Day leftovers for N.O.L. today. 'Twas good but I’m glad their ain’t any more of 'em.

Well keerap, tomorrow I have an hour presentation to 40 to 50 scientists, followed by a half hour of questions. I know the material intimately but I hate hate hate public speaking, especially to large groups. We’re doing a dry run here shortly, so really it’s almost like having to present twice. I’ll be ageing by the minute until all this is over. Yuck.

I dunno whether the guy is actually morpheous or not. But his name is Morpheus. Maybe he is a morphey type, though – who knows?

(Shape changer? :p)

Special1 don’t ask me, ask flytrap. He’s the one that was in whoever that is arms.

lieu Stone Mountain is to say the least waaaaaaay overrated. It’s a big ol’ hunk o’ granite. WOO! I’m not a big fan. Does it show? The town (village) of Stone Mountain, however, does have some cool shops and restaurants which makes it kinda fun to roam around. Oh, and ick on the presentation. Not a fan of that either.

The most mundane of MMP posts. A colleague just showed up at the office after 2 months in Hawaii on the job, and she brought me the dashboard hula dancer I gave her a $10 to buy it with. Well, she brought me $5 in change, and the bill was marked for WheresGeorge. Entered the serial number, and bingo, the bill originated in Hawaii.

Now I have 2 souvenirs. :cool::smiley:
