Happy humping day all, sorry had to go there
The past couple of days have been interesting, sis is ok babies are aok and will be going home in time to get santafied. I have spent a ton of time with my Mom and have learned some interesting things about the Family, nothing juicy so nothing really to share. Anyhoo seems like all us Mumpers are doing well except for the pervy part but what do you expect when Moooom is a working full time instead of supervising us.
Cheers all
Jim
WHEW!!! What a day this was… Not only was I fighting with SolidWorks, but I had to deal with someone who I’m not supposed to talk to, then I had to convince an electrical engineer that I knew what I was doing in mechanical design. After all, I’ve just been doing this since 1985…
Then, on the ride home (an hour later than usual, thanks to *someone *having meetings) I was informed that I narrowly escaped being sent to Yuma for 2 freekin’ weeks!!! My spousal unit actually gave serious consideration to sending me so I can get to know yet another aircraft. Except my work is primarily wiring harnesses. I don’t need to know what the UAV looks like or where the cables are routed. I just need to draw what the designers come up with. Anyway, **FCD **did the right thing and didn’t volunteer me, so he gets to live another day.
After we got home, I took off right away for a series of errands. I dropped off another batch of mitts at the store, deposited a check at my credit union, ran by the liquor store to get my winning power ball tickets, ran into Food Lion in search of dinner, but came out with only some sodas, then ran into McKay’s and came out with dinner. **FCD **had wings, I had California rolls, and we both had mac-n-cheese, plus crab dip on crackers. Healthy, huh? Tomorrow, I need to cook a real meal.
We came home to see that a bunch of our pine trees out front have been taken down - yay! The couple that are doing our yard work said they’ll try to finish in the next 2 weeks. Double yay!
Oh, yeah, and something else that came out of these meetings - I’m being assigned all the drawing for a new program. They were all started by the idiot coworker who can’t spell and who likes to make things overly difficult. At least it’s all in AutoCAD - I’m a whiz in AutoCAD!
That’s all I’ve got. I need to think mellow thoughts and try to chill.
Home from Evening Prayer over to the church house. ‘Twas nice. I know I can be a good Whiskypalian anywhere but I gotta say that good ol’ St. Pat’s is the first church I have ever felt really happy at. It was nice to be back home.
That’s all I got. I’s tahrd and gonna go lie upon the bed and watch teevee until sleepy time hits.
Nitey Nite Y’all!
So they finally revealed the “across the board salary restructuring” that they promised us back in April - I got a 5% raise!
Retroactive to 5/1/12!
'ello everyone! This won’t be long, and I might not be in the MMP for 10 days or so, depends on how well I can connect at my dad’s place with the Ipad. And since I really haven’t used it at all yet, it’ll be a test to see how quick I figure that out too, lol.
So Monday the car bit the dust again, with an issue that last time cost us about a month without the car and about 800 bucks. So we borrowed my FIL’s truck, which we were going to use anyway to move the bigger stuff and have been using that. We hadn’t heard about the car yet, and hadn’t bothered calling, 'cause we figured it’d be the same thing.
Whilst moving and packing stuff today, MrTao found 150 dollars tucked away in his desk, wheeee! First thing I thought was ‘Welp, we know that’s going to Oscar’, the mechanic. An hour later Oscar calls: the problem was the cam shaft sensor’s seal, which was leaking and causing the sensor to fail, which makes the transmission not shift. And…it was 140 bucks and it was done today, wheeee!!! They got after-market parts, because part of the ‘fun’ of dealing with this POS is that Chrysler has stopped making parts, then made them again, then stopped, and getting anything has been an exercise in foolishness. Hell, Oscar had a friend WELD a piece for the AC when we literally could not get one from anywhere because they simply were no longer being made. Did I mention this car is only a few years old?
So…150 found in the morning, 140 spent in the evening, with 10 bucks we decided we’d donate to Carl’s Jr in return for some delicious burgers.
I am used to crap occurring, and to knowing that there is a way around it, or through it, or whatever. I bounce. I surf <figuratively> and I am always aware of what I do have, regardless of what is taken away. And I’m generally a happy person. MrTao is kinda the opposite, and sees every negative thing that happens as a personal insult. He’s said numerous times that my attitude has helped his quite a bit, and I can see the changes. So the discussion in the car, after finding the money and having it found just in time to fix the car, which would have had to wait until next month otherwise, was “Why drop the money to fix a problem, when if you just SKIPPED THE PROBLEM, you wouldn’t need the money in the first place? Very inefficient, and a big waste of time.” I laughed.
Neither of us are religious, but a couple of hours later I came up with the counter, that if the money was from angels, then obviously it was devils that broke the car.
ANYway, tomorrow we’re in his folks’ place, and Friday we head to San Diego, where my plane leaves Sat. morning. So I will be back on if I can, but can’t promise anything.
Got my birthday present today; couldn’t get it FOR my birthday because it didn’t come out until yesterday, but the latest Jim Butcher “Dresden” book, Cold Days, will keep me occupied on the plane for sure. If it makes it that long…I’ve had it an hour and am already reading it, lol. I’ll try to save some for later.
Everyone take care, and be safe, and get well!! I’ll try to connect while I’m in Idaho.
Cool!
Have a safe trip, Tao. iPad is easy; you’ll be back online in no time.
Yay!!!
Great news about your neighbor, lieu. I want to live in your neighborhood; sounds like a fantastic bunch of people.
Sounds like reasonable news about your mother, too, gotti. Fingers crossed.
I’m off tomorrow (no comments, thanks) to go decorate at the park and also to get some plants in the ground.
Off to find something to knit, I think.
Hugs.
GT
Irked, came home. More irk tomorrow.
Yay rosie!
Tao, me too.
I’ve been sidelined for the evening. Between my finger and my knee feeling like it’s going to explode I’ve given up for the night. I’m sitting on the couch with ice on my knee getting ready to size some rings. After that, bedtime as I have to be up way early to go to see the HFUNs in the morning.
The twins ate their pot roast over rice with no complaints tonight. They even ate the carrots which were cooked in with the roast, along with small potatoes and onions. I was so happy. My son is usually a picky eater and he was asking for seconds of carrots and roast. It’s always the small victories which make me smile.
Sorry Swampy, it’s only for the soft & cudly ones, & while backhair may make you soft, it does not make you cudilible!
Sari how’s this for a slogan? Mumpers: helping to remove the clouds from your sky. ![]()
Rosie won the lottery before they even drew the PowerBall #s.
ETA: do NOT play tug w/ the dog with your arse in a wheeled chair while your feet are proped up lest you want to become a towee.
Howdy All. Swampy, I hail from Macon, GA but now live in FL.
Y’all please keep the good mojo going as I’m having my little dog Louie’s teeth cleaned tomorrow. I know he will be fine but anytime there is anesthesia involved there is that small chance… He is my world, my baby, my vortex catapult…
**Rosie’s **sig to all.
Sending good thoughts your way. I understand completely. My boy, Bubba, who is the most frail of all our dogs is truly the light of my life and while I hate to see anything happen to any of our dogs, it truly kills me when something is going on with him.
Up and chilling for a few minutes this morning. Soon I’ll get dressed and head up to the land of the HFUNs for a meeting with their school district. This is the last of such meetings that I will attend. Then I’ll come straight back home so that I can pack for one of my weekend shows. If you live within 50 miles of the place, you have to setup yesterday or today. I live 48 miles away. So… I’ll be heading there 4 times this week!
Have a great day everyone!
Up, caffeinated, off to irk.
Butters, doggie prayers sent.
Good Mornin’ Y’all! Up and caffienatin’. YAWN 'Tis 37 Amurrkin out with a predicted high of 67 and sunny. Nice Fall day.
Tao good luck! Everybody says iPad is easy to operate which to me means I’d blow it up the first time I touched it but you’re probably more savvy.
Yay Rosie!!!
Puppy prayers headed out Butters. Macon is about a hunnert miles north of me.
Spidey I am soft and cuddly. Also cute. OYKW says so. So There!
Sounds like a big day StickyBuns. Just readin’ it made we want to go back to bed exhausted.
Have fun park decoratin’ gt.
Yay for gobbled up pot roast Apes!
Now I need more caffiene and rumbly tummy wants to be fed. Then, alas, no powerball for da bear, so irk purtification must commence.
Happy Thursday Y’all!
blurf!
Well, since I don’t live in Missouri or Arizona, it’s a sure bet I didn’t win the powerball.
Altho it’s possible I could have won $2million - I should check my tickets…
I’m up, at work, and about to attack drawings again. So off I go.
Happy Thursday!
OK, I checked - I had the PowerBall on one ticket for a whopping $4. Bottom line - I spent $10 on each of the last 2 drawings, winning $7 on Saturday and $4 today, leaving me $9 in the hole…
How’s that for bad at math?
Think of the cookies or ice cream you could have bought with that money MOOOOOOM. Oh the humanity!
