Base PS4 struggled big time; I remember the clips on Youtube. Here it is on base-PS4 more recently.
I’d say they mainly fixed it.
I played the Windows version upon release and it was OK (more or less), but I guess there is a reason why they stopped supporting PS4.
It seems CDProjektRed is happy with the turn around:
I think 1st person is better for gun-based gameplay, but I would have preferred it if the game had done its cutscenes in 3rd person, cinematic-style.
When I messed around with the game (originally to just test my low powered GPU), I also had that same feeling after I spent so long making a character look the way I wanted. But it seemed to me that the main purpose was that photo-mode it showed me (which lagged really badly). So, basically, to take cool selfies of you doing things in the game, ala what I’ve seen in Spider-Man.
Was that not available at launch?
They dropped a 2.2 update and while it adds a bunch of options to customize your looks, it also adds Johnny riding along with you around town and he makes comments on stuff.
I saw the update, in addition there’s a ton of new features for camera mode, including the ability to spawn other characters. There’s also of mention of new ‘stuff’ that can be found out in Night City as well.
I really like the ability to add photos taken in-game to the photo frames in your apartments. It amuses me to have an action shot of the patricide from the end of Act 1 hanging in my living room.
