interesting question.
currently alternate between a '03 Chevy S10 pickup (base model) and '08 Jeep Patriot (also base model)
The Jeep, while serviceable, isn’t very likeable and the Chevy while completely loveable and serviceable is starting to get on in years and show its age.
What I would love to have, a full dresser motorcycle. Harley Davidson would be nice, but I would be happy with a BMW or Honda Goldwing.
Mazda CX-7. This is the first non-hatchback I’ve owned; only because automakers don’t typically make them for the US market except for entry-level econo-boxes.
Therefore, I’m getting a hatchback - Panamera. However, if I can keep #1, I’m getting a little convertible. Miata, maybe a 2-door Jeep. Fun but too impractical for my only ride.
2017 Honda Ridgeline. Already have test drive scheduled for some time in May when my local Honda dealers gets one in. Already rather disappointed Honda is still using the same basic running gear in the new Ridgeline as my 10 year old Ridgeline. I was hoping for a V-8.
On one hand the nicest car I’ve owned was a 2014 535D xdrive and I’d love to own one again. On the other hand its not a practical family car. Right now I’m looking at a 2016 Wrangler Unlimited for my next car. If I’m dreaming I’ll take a 2016 Dodge Viper ACR.
2007 Toyota Yaris that I intend to drive until it collapses into a heap of uselessness, and a 1987 Jeep Laredo that leaves the driveway maybe ten days per year.
If price were no object, a Tesla Roadster, no questions asked. But since price is an object, I’ve got my eye on an Elio (if they ever get them up and running, that is).
Price is not an object-whether or not they are being currently made on a production line is. The Roadster isn’t being made any more, and the Elio has yet to see daylight.
Currently, a 2000 Honda Accord. It’s starting to show its age, but damn, I love this car. I may cry when I have to give it up.
A Honda Civic hybrid. The Accords have gotten too damn big, and the Civic is more the size of car I want. And I want the gas economy of a hybrid, even if gas prices stay low for a good while. I figure I’ll be driving my next Honda for 15+ years, and unless the world simply becomes way less petroleum-dependent, gas prices will go back up during its lifetime.
Do you know how long Toyotas last? You may be here until the heat death of the universe. My last Toyota was almost fifteen years old and had just a smidge under 200,000 miles. I KNOW I could have kept it going a bit longer, but an opportunity to get a cheap new one presented itself.
A Smart with enough space for my largest suitcase (which is large enough to fit my computer’s minitower in its box - yes, I keep the original packaging).
2014 VW [Golf] GTI four-door. She’s black and her name is Shirley Manson.
I just bought the current one last June. I don’t want to trade her in! She’s my dream car (well, my “attainable” dream car). If I had to get something else, it would probably be a Porsche 911 Turbo. I’ve always wanted one of those, too, and your rules eliminate the 959 and 918.
ETA: I’d certainly consider the Focus RS if it was available with a flappy-paddle gearbox instead of a full manual. I do too much driving in traffic to deal with a clutch pedal.
