Yes on the all berries used.
I may have just assumed the daily cast, I’m not even sure if we discussed it at all. They’re just so handy to have.

The bear and the levitate was a weird combination that worked really well.
The ravine actually helped the drake start close to you. The burrowing was its sneak attack method.
The levitate was a 2 edged sword though, it startled it but also put it out of reach of Gwaelur. I might recommend only levitating something around 8’ so Gwaelur could attempt to chop open its soft underbelly.

Does the party want to track into the Drake tunnel? Easy for the smaller folk but no equines can go and tough for 6’4" Ceol & 5’11" Thoroncir. I can’t believe Gilraen is third tallest at 5’2".

So just to clarify some points with Bitur’s scouting:
Bitur has a +8 bonus in all Knowledge checks as well as Investigation, and a +6 bonus in perception, the combo of these bonuses are great for general investigation and examination.
However, his Stealth check is only +2. And if he wears his half-plate, he takes a disadvantage on his checks on top of that.
So for scouting ahead into unknown areas that we want to be sneaky with, he’s probably not the ideal choice, even with the Pass Without Trace bonus.
However, in the case of the Drake’s lair, it’s unlikely stealth is going to be that important. It’s unlikely much was living there other than the Drake.
So whether Bitur goes a-scouting is largely situational.
Ghan can cast Barkskin on Bitur, giving him at least AC16 if that helps.
Looking at Ghan’s sheet, he may be able to help scout.
He has Perception +8 and Stealth +6 - what other abilities would help?
Felareth has Stealth +6 and Perception +7. If he’s wearing full gear, he doesn’t suffer disadvantage to Stealth owing to the compensating effect of his cloak and boots.
Those are the big ones. If the tunnel eventually branches, Survival = tracking so that is the third skill you bring to the table. I think our #2 tracker is the daughter of Strider.
Bitur & Gwaelur are the most important in this case as they can tell if the tunnels are stable. Bitur’s investigation helped by Hejren is pretty thorough.
Fang (Ghan’s Wolf) has Perception +3 and Stealth +4, so could join us.
It would be good to have Gwaelur, but will his Armour affect our Stealth?
Also I don’t usually recommend splitting the party, but a) we need some tough guys to guard the mounts and b) it seems unlikely there will be any wandering monsters in the Drake’s hunting grounds…
Bitur’s armor will make him unstealthy. Gwaelur’s armor is basically elven chain for D&D purposes. But neither Dwarf is stealthy. With Pass without Trace. Gwaelur is pretty stealthy though.
The Hobbit is a weird one as armor is unstealthy but he is skilled at stealth and has Elven Cloak & boots so he ends up pretty stealthy.
Gilraen has advantaged stealth with effectively Elf Cloak & boots.
I agree, splitting the party makes sense for once. Thoroncir & Ceol would have a tough time in the tunnel which is maybe 5’ tall. Also best pair to guard the horses. Possibly with Gilraen as support as the third tallest. How she is third tallest still blows my mind.
I also now have that Sending spell, so could call back to the main party if need be. My skills would also be useful to ID anything.
Must be under 5’ to enter this ride
So if waiting til morning, the bear will be gone.
Just need the tall folk to check in.
I think the plan to have Thoroncir and Ceol stay behind, at the camp, with the horses, while everyone else goes a-scouting makes sense.
Agreed.
Likewise, thanks.
It beats mage armor which only gives me 13 + Dex Modifier (i.e. 15 total).
Would a Necklace of Dragon Teeth be worth making?!
Maybe, but probably wouldn’t be anything special. It does sound like something the Woses might do.
Please could I get an idea of how good Stealth is?!
Ghan has +6 Stealth, but using Pass without Trace, he (and all his companions) get +10 bonus for 1 hour (N.B. using Concentration.)
So Ghan himself has a net +16 Stealth for the suration of the spell.
.
From t’Internet:
Is that correct?
P.S. Ghan has Wisdom 20 and Perception +8. So he detects hidden opponents by rolling D20 + 28, correct?
