That’s the point of the Guild.
It’s like asking a Captain if he is willing to vouch for the troops serving under him. :dubious:

Sorry all, last night attacked and I was unable to work on the character updates or XP. I try to get started tonight.
In the meantime we’ll make a few assumptions.
Gwaelur makes 6th level and thus needs to choose a Prof, I recommend Axe for the extra attacks and the +1 to hit and Speed Factor.
Bitur will probably just make 6th but I can’t let you take Axe this level, do you want to specialize in Shield, Xbow or something new? You can also take it in one of your 4 secondaries.
Sir Thoroncir was 6th and will not earn 35K XP so will remain 6th.
Gilraen might make 7th, see was only 5th but her table is easy. It is borderline. She did more combat related this time then ever before with all the undead and of coursed healed until she herself was hurting.
Gil-Gandel made 6th and is now to train as a Bard and choose a Prof. I strongly recommend Bow!
Rorimac will not make level and remains 5th.
Angelica Mulligan Took was 6th and still made 7th with great ease. She may take a Specialization in a weapon or a new weapon.
Hraedsig should just make level, it is close. So he will be 6th. But I can’t let you take Sword this time, do you want to specialize in Shield or Lance or something new?
Ghân has made 7th with ease and is off to train.
Deor was 5th but very close to 6th and will make 7th. He had a book that helped his XP total out at the end of last adventure/beginning of this one. He is actually due a proficiency and may take it in Staff, something new or Alchemy.
I live these for your 3rd level spells: Fly, Gust of Wind, Mass Strength, Fire Ball & ID at Distance.
As part of your share you are offered this package:
1st: Feather Fall, Message, Dancing Lights
2nd: Long Light (Lasts 1 hour per level), Magic Mouth, Web, Stinking Cloud
3rd: Invisibility 10’ Radius, Lightning Bolt, Tongues, Water Breathing,
4th: Mass Sleep (2bl numbers and shift HD up by one scale), Fear , Plant Growth, Shape Shift (but each shape must be learned, similar to Polymorph Self)
Decisions, decisions, sling, dagger or short sword.
BTW: What wasthe name of the Wild Cat, I need to record that on my sheet.
Freyja - the talking, purring, shredding machine
Thank you
I just realized, you also have the option of pouring the Prof. into your thieving abilities or Lock Smith Skill (which would aid your thieving abilities also)
I will take the prof in axe. It only makes sense.
Out of curiosity, and in the interest of understanding D&D abit better, why can’t Bitur take axe? I thought we were in roughly the same situation?
He already has the +2/+2 and extra attack every other round. He built for combat a bit better to start with. If I allowed him to go to +3/+3 he would go up to 2 attacks per round and 3 next level. That is a game killer this early.
Yeah, when the attacking Dwarf is just a blur, he’s going too damned fast for the rest of the party to have any fun.
Ah ok, that makes sense. I really should pick up one of those manuals one of these days.
Is this a Middle Earth thing?
(1st edition doesn’t have weapon specialisation and you need to be 7th level Fighter to get 3/2 attacks)
Actually I believe Unearthed Arcana does but yes it is my add-on overruling the PH.
There is indeed Weapon Specialisation in Unearthed Arcana!
It gives Fighters and Rangers (+1,+2) and 3/2 attacks at 1st level, (+3, +3) at 4th, 2/1 attacks at 7th and 5/2 at 13th.
(I think my group must have rejected it, along with the dreaded ‘Cavalier’.)
I still don’t see how Bitur at 6th would be getting 2/1 attacks and 3 attacks at 7th.
If it’s your add-on, does that mean you’re overruling yourself?
I already have Invisibility 10’ radius and Lightning Bolt. I picked up both from the sorcerer Gash in the very first adventure (post 529). Other than that, it’s also missing the spells from the Hedge Wizard book.
Don’t I already have a proficiency in staff? Anyway, if I’m getting into melee combat something’s already gone badly wrong. I had considered taking a proficiency in a ranged weapon like Dart, so I can contribute a little more during those protracted fighting rounds, but with my new Alchemy set, maybe I’ll just take a proficiency in that.
Gandalf would probably agree.
Sweet! I think given the amount of shield-walling we did in the caves, it makes the most sense to take the shield specialization.
My rules as buried somewhere in the setup thread but early:
1st specialization gives a +1 to hit, +2 Dam (also 1 better speed factor and -5% fumble.) The second specialization (3rd Proficiency) is +2/+2 and x1.5 attacks. The third specialization (4th Proficiency) gives a +3/+3 and x2 attacks. So for a fighter with 3 specializations at 9th levels lets say, they get 3 attacks and at 13th they get 4 attacks per round.
Additional specializations go up much slower, first +1 dam then +1 to hit and finally x2.5 attacks. So that would be 7 proficiencies at a single weapon.
Can you Email me your current Spell list please. I might be missing a few others. I did not bother listing the Hedge Wizard ones but I do have those.
Done.
I’ll take the prof in Bow, indeed. We have the sluggers already, best if I stick to what I’m good at.
I’ll add a specialization in the shield. It will complement my upgraded battle-axe well, I think.
