Damit! I have to become a Red Sox fan! Pit me.

One good thing about this series is that it will change things psychologically for teams that get way down in future series. A 3-0 series deficit is no longer “impossible” to come back from. The fact that it’s now been done will give future teams a little more psychological energy and hope. It can be done. It has been done. It’s hard but it’s not impossible. You don’t have to give up. You’ve got a shot. That precedent is good for baseball.

Holy shit!

Could we actually have the Red Sox playing the Astros in the World Series?

If the Astros win tomorrow, I’m completely torn. I rooted for the Astros for most of my life, being born in Houston and returning there for college. On the other hand, I’ve lived in New England now for over 12 years, and have become a die-hard Red Sox fan.

Talk about “deja vu all over again.” For a moment last year, I had visions of the Red Sox playing the Cubs. This would have been beautiful, because one of them would have to have won, right? (I went to high school in the Chicago area, and have always had a soft spot for the Cubs.) That would have been interesting, seeing which team curse prevailed.

Looks like a great game tomorrow night, and if the Astros make it to the World Series, I’m set as a fan either way.

If I were you I’d be more worried about the Redskins-Packers game.

[Claim: The outcome of Washington Redskins football games has correctly predicted the winner of every U.S. presidential election since 1936.

I know this is going to hurt, but some of you Packer haters are going to have to bite the bullet this week if you want Kerry.

Well, if you want futility after last night’s game, Chicago can also offer:

The White Sox
The Bears
The Bulls
The Blackhawks

And maybe we can throw in Northwestern as an added bonus.

Well whadda ya know? Looks like I dont need a pitting any more!! woot!

grats to the Sox!
