Damit! I have to become a Red Sox fan! Pit me.

So I guess the only thing to say is…

Who’s your daddy?!

Holy crap. It’s about time.

YAY, HOORAY!!

Now this is good to TV! Listen to the fans! you would think this was at Fenway!

Well.

I hope the Sox win so THEY’LL TALK ABOUT SOMETHING THE FUCK ELSE UP THERE.

Ahem.

My Yank-loving co-worker said today that there’ll be a karmic payoff for all this–if the Red Sox win, Kerry wins, because God is smiling on New England right now.

We’ll see. As for us Bronxites, well, we still have the TWENTY-SIX TITLES to rest on.

Dude, the Yankee fans left in disgust. The D and 4 trains are probably quiet as crypts right now although they’re stuffed with people.

This is so fucking sweet!

Is this going to be the end of Joe Torre?

Now, if my 'Stros make it to the WS tomorrow, I’ll be rooting for them, but ya gotta love a bunch of slobs who look like the softball team from your local Bar ‘n’ Grille* knocking off The. Fucking. Yankees. Congratulations, Sox fans, and may the best team win the World Series.

*yeah, I know they’re all veteran pros with a payroll near the size of the Yanks, but work with me here.

awww come on…let us enjoy the moment. Be a dick tomorrow…

WOOOOO!!!
Redsox, you deserve it!!!

What’s awesome is that coming from 0-3 behind like that wouldn’t have meant nothing if it wasn’t the Yankees.

BUT IT WAS.

Nope. David Ortiz and Johnny Damon are good enough for me.

that was supposed to be all caps

And now you have the biggest choke in all of sports history to go along with the TWENTY-SIX TITLES. Congrats!

Woo hoo! Go Sox, go Sox, go Sox…

The RedSox fans never whined half so much as the Yankee fans whine about the RedSox fans.

So who’s going to start game 1?

So, Massachusetts v. Texas, anyone…?

Oh, that would be great. Especially if the Sox and Kerry win.

Wow, hadn’t even recognized that link yet. Wonder what the odds of that happening were, if (still a big one) and when it does…

No, seriously, what were the odds that the WS teams and presidential candidates might hail from the same states?

The Yankee’s payroll is roughly 150% that of Boston’s.

Well, I guess the ugliest way of doing the math is saying 1/50 x 1/50 x 2, or 2/250, 1/125, but that’s as if each candidate had equal chances of being from any state (1 in 50) and then halving those odds since it doesn’t matter which candidate comes from which state represented in the WS.

Since the populations are different in each area, and because candidates are always tapped from certain key states, it’s a lot trickier than that, but what the hell. I’ll just say 1 in 125, a bit less than one percent. Of course if either of the Candidates is from Chicago, the answer is one in zero.
