Damn it! Jessica Simpson makes cute shoes!

How about Jerry Garcia ties?

Are they made from hemp?

[obligatory offensive Jessica Simpson is now fat joke]

These days, it would take a truck.

[/oojsinfj]

No, they’re pretty boring. Pretty much the same patterns as other peoples’ ties; Macy’s around her sets out round table things with ties all over them arranged by color, and you can’t tell the Garcia ties from the (say) Van Heusen ones without looking at the label.

I have not read thread. Dope is blocked at work, am posting from phone, just had to say Jessica comes closest to affordable shoes that actually are made like the shoes I like but can’t afford. Good quality, too…genuine leather most of the time which is a must for me. Also, she always has lots of size 10. Will post from home to post pics!

How very shallow of you.

This is my opinion - it’d be different if Simpson was a bad person, but so far as I know, the worst that can be said about her is that she’s a bit of an airhead and her music sucks. (And she’s pissed off PETA, which is a bonus, in my book.)

On the bad person note, I do support the embargo against Trump ties.

I’m sure he’d buy the J. Garcia ties, even if they are boring. He likes boring ties. Hell, we bought the Stephen Colbert ice cream just because we thought it would be amusing to have in our freezer. Ice cream, as it turns out, is not very amusing.

Yes. Listen people, I’m tall, or at least tallish. I have a long inseam, and I don’t wear a size 7 shoe. Now make with the apparel already!

Totally. Ms. Simpson doesn’t even fall into the Paris Hilton moderately-annoying-but-who-really-cares category. She’s just a shitty ex-pop singer who fell into oblivion, only to be revived briefly by a little weight gain hubbub. I just… I don’t know, find her to be silly, and don’t want to buy any of her silly shoes.

Right? I actually applaud Jessica Simpson for making stylish shoes at an attainable price point.

Truth be told, though, Jessica’s brand just rips off last season’s Louboutins. The whole platform thing she’s been doing for a few seasons was started by Louboutin a few years ago. Her shoes look exactly the same.

Jessica’s “Lizza” Pump (also comes in other colors, like the Louboutin))

Louboutin’s platform peep toe (has been black in other seasons)

It should be noted that the Louboutins always come out a solid few months ahead of any Jessica shoes, so it’s always pretty clear she’s ripping them off. But hey, it’s not like someone who is going to buy a pair of $70 shoes is the same person who is going to buy a pair of $700 shoes, so it works out.

Well YEAH!

While I agree with zweisamkeit I wouldn’t buy a $50 ounce of gold from Trump, not because it’s a label, but because he’s a thief and a troll who is presently stinking up my beloved Chicago Skyline with his godawful vodka-bottle-disco-ball-mirrored-penis of a building.

That said, I think Jessica Simpson is just delightful. As long as she’s silent.

For no good reason I have refused to buy celebrity designed anything. But when I saw the line of shoes designed by Eddie Van Halen the 18-year-old-wanna-be-Eddie Van Halen-worshipping guitar player in me screamed “I gotta get those!” and my 37-year-old brain agreed. Those are some fine looking shoes.

Yes, they’re just Chuck Taylors with the Frankenstein design on them, but they’ll look damn good on my feet.

Oh my gosh. I was at DSW yesterday while my husband was looking for running shoes, and as I was thinking to m’self, “Self, you have no money and no business being in this wonderful store that you are wishing you could spend thousands of dollars in.” When I noticed that every single shoe I picked up while lamenting this had the JS label on them. I felt weird for a minute, and then went to my husband and told him, “Say, it turns out that I have a thing for Jessica Simpson’s shoes.”

My husband knows that I’m not really a JS fan…so he gave an appropriate :dubious: and said, “Hmmm. Ok, then.”

Less than 24 hours later, here’s a headline I understand. That label isn’t going to stop me if I get shoe money, but I get it.

If you run into some really good shoe money, it would appear you could opt for the Louboutin line instead. $800 pumps, sheesh. No shoe can make my legs look *that *good.

Me either. My legs are $100 shoe-worthy, tops.

Ok. I’m going to keep it real. I completely understand where the OP is coming from with this. I do not like Jay Z. At all. When I see a cute jacket, and I realize it is Rocawear, I put it back. (can’t fit it anyways). I put it back because I really can’t stand the idea of wearing his work. Even if the work is cute.

But I have never had an issue with Jessica. Ok, she’s not that bright, they say (I have never seen the show that demonstrates her dumbness), and I don’t like her music, but she doesn’t turn me off in any way, so I have no problems with her. I will admit, I have seen her purses, and they feature the label “Jessica Simpson”. I would not buy a purse with that label, although I have a Coach purse with ‘Coach’ on it, and I don’t mind that a bit. So I guess I am weird about labels.

All that being rambled, I love this girl’s shoes. They are indeed modeled after more high end fashioned shoes, but unlike knockoffs, they are made very well, with great attention to detail and great quality leather that lasts without looking ratty. They don’t show any labels that say ‘Jessica Simpson’ of course. They aren’t Louboutins, although they certainly take the spirit of the shoe, as Diosa has pointed out. They come in lots of shiney patent leather styles that are made with genuine leather, not stinky vinlys and plastics. They are comfortable and they are beautiful to me…dare I even say…art. There are other celebrities out there putting their names on shoes that suck. Paris Hilton’s shoes are garbage…played out pointy toed shiney plastic pumps with 4-seasons-ago spindly heels. Yuck.

Now. Lets get linky up in here. Keep in mind that all these shoes are under 120 dollars and are genuine leather or patent leather at that price!

Theseare a favorite of mine. Extremely comfortable. I can wiggle my hips by the reggae speakers all night in these!

I want to show off two views of these pairs, because they are the truth! Had them for over two years, but they are still favorites. Gold leaf heel and platform. Got the round toe and the peep toe in this style.

These are greatfor every day with jeans. Would never wear these shoes to work though. I stick to a lower heel at work. This is for the streets.

I like these. Again, a lot of Louboutin inspiration here. I never noticed that before Diosa brought it up…I had always just noticed a general air of haute couture shoes at better prices and good quality, like Steve Madden does.

Now, I am feelin’ these! In upstate NY, these are really hard to find. The Macy’s here doesn’t carry shoes this stacked yet, but I found these at Marshall’s outlet, so I got lucky. And these are deceptively comfortable.

Why did I write this long ass post? Two reasons. Most importantly, I want to show off my shoes. Secondly, I honestly hope to convince the OP to bite the bullet and get those Jessica shoes. No shame in it, baby. No shame in it.

Ha ha! Well they are very cute.

Maybe. I find these to be charming: http://i41.photobucket.com/albums/e266/WryOnRye/cute.jpg

But you do acknowledge that it’s not “his” work right?
I can see if you can’t stand the idea of wearing something with his “name” or “brand” on it, but don’t confuse this with something he actually had any hand in designing.

Jay Z doesn’t do anything but count the money. On second thought, I’m sure he doesn’t even do that; Jay Z doesn’t do anything but collect the money, rather. That said, some people just find certain celebrities irritating, and don’t want to patronize their clothing lines, shoe lines, electric grill lines, etc.

Hmm I wonder if she has a ripoff of the Louboutin Pigalle 100s. Love the shoes but reeeeealllly don’t want to spend the $$ to buy them in all the crazy metallic colours that I crave.

Okay I found them. Her Vanity shoe seems pretty dead on for the Pigalles. I don’t really like the colours - now if they came in something luscious like chartreuse we’d be talking!
