dan savage redux....hope this is ok

i didn’t hear back from fluilddruid yet but i’m taking a chance that this is ok…

i quoted too much of his colmn and that was stupid…i thought it wasn’t that much but…well i was pissed off and not thinking. And i mostly wanted to just spread the though which at least i did…

but…

http://www.citypages.com/databank/27/1320/article14229.asp

just thought it needed saying.

And Mike is a total asshole.

But more imortantly…no abortion AND no birth control??? how do you think you stop abortion??? And that promotes promiscuity???What about married woman who are just not ready to have children yet? What about single womem who are not promicuois? Oh wat they’re not suppose to have sex at all…and the government it suppose to tell them that.

Fuck them all. No wait, they don’t deserve to be fucked…unfuck them.

Assholes.

oh and…

oh and i just wanted to add, while i agress with Dan that who knows what GWB and the rest’s sex is really like (altough anythng i can think of is still more dirtusbing than piss drinkinng) i still think it’s better than getting people killed. And if a big glass of piss will distract GWB from some of the things he’s been doing more the better.

Anyway i hope this is ok.

Sorry about the quote, yes i should know better.

What really makes me see red is the talk of attempts to block a HPV vaccine. A vaccine that PREVENTS CANCER and they bitch about it because it It sends the wrong message". Madness, sheer unalloyed madness. It’s like demanding that cars not have seatbelts because if you drive safely you won’t get into an accident. What, another car hit you? Well, you shouldn’t have been driving in that part of town, you were asking for it.

Actually, you didn’t quote any of his column, you just plopped it in themiddle of your OP. It wasn’t clear to a casual reader (without first reading the column) which words were yours and which were his. To a non-casual reader, it was pretty obvious, since Dan Savage capitalizes words at the beginning of sentences and avoids using dozens of question marks at a time. :stuck_out_tongue:

That said, I agree with the spirit of your OP. The attempts to block the HPV vaccination are so wrong and stupid as to be evil, even stupider than the morons who still think blocking access to birth control will lead to anything other than a soaring teen birth rate. Idiots.

betenoir, I’m glad you reposted this. I’m not very good at expressing myself, so I’ll just say, “What Gaudere said.”

Gaudere, can you provide another link? I got a 404 on that one. I’m at work, so Savage is out of the question. I would really like to know who said this, though.

I think this is what Gaudere was trying to link to. Hopefully, this will work better. The relevant text:

There you have it: Tony Perkins wants his daughter to die of cervical cancer. The sick fuck.

Does anyone know what this: “The GOP in Kansas is seeking to criminalize hetero heavy petting, for God’s sake!” refers to?

It’s exactly this kind of thing that makes me hate the right so much. Frankly, if they could jettison the religious loonies, I would seriously consider becoming a republican. I’ve always thought that the two parties apply their ideals to exactly the wrong things. The republicans (say they) are for less government, which is a good thing-except for issues that boil down to personal choice like abortion, birth control, prayer in schools, curbs on research, gay rights, religious icons on public buildings, etc…-the very issues where 0 government infringement is most important. Democrats (say they) support individual freedoms, yet they support more governmental restrictions on freedom by supporting gun control, unions, massive regulation of business, farm subsidies, racial quotas etc…-all programs that go completely against the rights of the individual. If we could somehow meld the two parties into one that was for less government across the board, we’d really have something.

Wouldn’t that be the Libertarian party?

I would say that Perkins represents the Pro-Cancer Wing of the Republican Party. Let’s see if the Pro-Cancer Wing ot the Anti-Cancer Wing prevails in this dispute.

It should be except for another one of those jaw dropping contradictions that politics are rift with-the party that speaks most to common sense attracts all the lunatics.

I’m generally a conservative – and, more relevantly for this thread, I’m generally a social conservative.

I see absolutely no justification for the banning of HPV vaccine – or, more accurately, for the decision to not recommend it for standard use. If we can stop HPV, we certainly should.

Hmmm…

Daniel

This isn’t as much about morality as it is about good driving. If you don’t want to suffer horrible car crashes, you need to abstain from cars, and when you find a road, stick with that road.

Also, make sure no one has ever driven on that road ever before. And make sure no one drives on that road when you’re when at work. If you’re not sexy enough to keep that road from sticking its dick into other cars when you’re not looking, you’re a filthy slut and you deserve to die of cancer.

Such is the culture of life.

Okay, I’ve seen those plastic truck testicles, but I had no idea they came with an optional dildo.

Maybe it’s time to take my contacts out, but on first reading I thought that said “seedbag of virtue.”

Which, if I were an Envangelical Dickwad, is exactly how I would refer to my scrotum.

So when are the Dopers going to start running for office on the “Sane, well thought-out government that doesn’t pander to any particular interest group” platform?

Probably about the same time losing elections in a huge landslide starts being fun.

Sorry for the delay, it’s been a rough week. You’re fine.

Really? because it’s been a rough week for me to and “fine” is about the last thing i feel…so it’s nice to hear…

And this wasn’t exactly how i thought this thread would go but WTF…the cervical cancer thing it something that needs talking about …i can’t beleive they would even consider such a thing ( i mean banning it). It’s just that there’s so much more in that livk that desereves condemnation…
