Dancing with the Stars -- DWTS -- Fall 2014 (Season 19)

A visit to the Season 19 Wikipedia page:

turned up the information that someone has proposed deleting all the individual DWTS season entries from Wikipedia:

I’d have posted a “Keep” entry myself, except that I can’t figure out how to do it. The “edit” tab took me on a path I feel ill-equipped to navigate.

Any skilled Wikipedians care to take up the challenge?

How many of these young people who watch youtube or the disney channel are watching dwts?

First rehearsal videos released.

Janel and Val

Lea and Artem

Tavis and Sharna

Randy and Karina

Sadie and Mark

Michael and Emma

Jonathan & Allison

Lolo and Keo

Antonio and Cheryl

Tommy and Peta

Alfonso and Witney

Betsey and Tony

Bethany and Derek

Not a bad season opener.

Julianne’s dress may have been lower cut than the dancers’.

Betsey Johnson got robbed. Yes, she got into a fight with a coat rack mid-performance, but up until that point, her cha-cha was way, way better than whatever Lolo Jones did. No way did she deserve a lower score.

Voted for Lea, Tommy (who was surprisingly good), Randy, & Alfonso.

I totally agree.

I thought that Lea & Artem and Alfanso & Whitney were the best performers.
I thought that Lolo & Keo and Michael & Ema were the worse.

Betsy was the most limber 70 something they’ve ever had on the show. Tommy moved really well too. Usually in past seasons people 50 and over are pretty stiff, but that seems to have changed this season.

Quite a bit of talent this season. Alfanso & Whitney surprised me. I didn’t realize he was that good. Tommy Chong had a good first week. I hope he’s back next week.

Lolo & Keo are my pick to go home. I thought Keo let her down with the choreography. He’s a champion dancer but seemed a bit lost working with a complete novice.

I’m curious to see what Tony and Betsy do if they return next week. I hope she can come back with a strong dance.

Tommy was smooth, and Randy was a surprise, that’s for sure. I don’t know if Michael was the worst, but I do think he has pretty much hit the limit of his potential.

I usually don’t like when they send one person home after only one dance (I guess they do that in the fall, and in the spring they give them two dances before someone goes). But in this case I’m okay with it as long as the person who goes home is LoLo.

I also thought Betsey was robbed. Not that she deserved a higher score than she got but she definitely deserved a higher score than LoLo because at least she did half a dance.

I’m surprised he surprised you. Remember this? (after 10 second ad)

I do remember that, and never realized it was Carlton! Great to see it again.

Yeah, he’s a ringer.

He’s lost a lot of weight. I recall he got really heavy a few years ago. He could have played Uncle Phil pretty soon. Glad he’s taking better care of himself.

What do you guys think about Sadie & Mark’s dance? The judges gave it the second highest score, but it didn’t do much for me.

I liked Sadie’s dance. A bit reserved because she’s 17 and I noticed Mark kept a full foot away during the dance. He did the same thing when he was paired with Shawn Johnson.

Sadie mentioned her school didn’t allow dancing. She’s really, really starting as a beginner.

For Alfonso fans, here’s a great “Fresh Prince” reunion on The Graham Norton Show.

Well, thank god for that. I’m not familiar with Lolo, but she did not come across very well at all personality-wise on the show. Kind of a Debbie Downer.

I think Tony was really, really hoping he and Betsey would get the boot tonight.

It isn’t fair to have Alfonso Ribeiro in this, he’s a professional dancer.

I thought he said that he hasn’t danced in 20 or 30 years though.

Terrible. Hyper-extended legs and odd arms and hip action. Way over scored. And she did have dance lessons out side of school, She said on a blog that her dance teacher taught her to be double jointed. Her words, not mine

Hmm… he took lessons from Kym Johnson in 2007 when he went with Lance Bass to watch Joey Fatone take Rumba steps. So that 20 years is a bit of an exaggeration. Any chance to dance here and there would still keep his muscle memory pretty strong. He has a really long history of dance, he danced better than his partner Monday night. Is that fair? I don’t know.
