Dang...LiveJournal is down

So, it’s your fault?

I have no update. There was something about a chocolate starfish, but ehh.

My iced tea maker started working again.

This is too funny. It’s like it’s opposite day. Complaints on the SDMB about LiveJournal being down? I NEVER thought that would happen. It’s usually vice-versa.

On the plus side, maybe people will discover each other’s journals when it does come back online.

Though that could be a negative, too…

Is anyone else being completely irrational about this whole LJ-powerloss thing? I keep thinking that my FLIST is getting longer, and longer, and longer…

I didn’t have much to post last night, nothing anyone wants to read anyway… but my friend’s list has been jumping lately with some of the groups I joined and I miss them already :frowning:

My birthday present to myself came last night and I so wanted to post the pictures that I took.

I’ve turned into a camera-happy weirdo!

Worse, I’m looking FORWARD to the long friends list to catch up on. Imagine my pain when it finally does come up and… nothing!

Nah . . . it’s imthjckaz’s fault.

Here’s an example of how much I miss LJ (which is the same as listening to the sound of your own voice) and what a camera-happy weirdo I’ve become:

I just checked because I wanted to make this entry:

Me and the boy are leaving to get in the train and go 2 stops to Smith & 9th street just to take pictures from the top of the highest train station in the world.

I’m always here on the Dope but LJ let’s me be me.

Ditto. In my case, most of my IRL friends are scattered around the US and Canada, and my personal LJ is the main way we all socialize/communicate/keep up with each other, so it feels like I’ve suddenly been cut off from everyone except a few locals.

It’s almost as bad as when my DSL just goes down. :frowning:

Boy, what are the odds? The only good posts you’ve made, and they get lost… :stuck_out_tongue:
I made an entry last night, it went through(using the Semagic client), and then I opened my friends page-and LJ was down. I may have made the post that broke the journal’s back!

I was going to post pictures of my rats on LJ. :frowning:

I’m gonna have to subscribe to this thread, so I can have something to replace my comment notification emails.

It’ll be balanced out by the dozens of entries saying “YAY!!! LJ’s back!!” though. So you’ll have *something *to read.

Can you tell us who is facing the Police in Round 7?

Hmmmmmmm. I’m gonna go with The Beatles - Revolver (lotta Beatles albums got nominated). Unless I change my mind. I’m wacky like that.

Interesting choice. How many nominations did you get total?

A broken LJ does not make this girl very happy, no sir.

I was over at a friends house late last night after finally getting out of a doctors’ appointment and then having to be at work. I was going to update about the dr’s appointment and … Broken LJ message. Waaaaaaaaa!!!

pathetic sobs

The people on my FL know that I’m hopelessly addicted to my LJ. (it’s under the same user name, btw)

Oh well…I’m sure the LJ support folks are working hard at getting the whole thing up. I am worried about the viability of all the content being there, though.

Patience darlin’, patience.

But, the good news that I was going to update about- on 11/02/04 my four year old daughter suffered a hemmorage in her good eye (she is blind in her left), causing her to go completely blind. I’ve been taking her to doctor’s appointment after doctor’s appointment over the last few months to see if there was any improvement- in cases like hers the blood tends to dissipate on it’s own.

During the last appointment that we had the doctor told me that there was no improvement with her vision and that surgery at this point was a viable option. We were then scheduled for another appointment for a second opinion.

After three hours of waiting yesterday we finally saw the doctor. After the exam he said that he could see part of her retina, meaning that the blood was finally dissapating. No surgery, and another appointment to check up on further progress in a month. He also told me that once the blood starts clearing up they usually see rapid progress.

whew & fingerscrossed &

Judging from the explanation about what’s wrong, can anyone hazard a guess how long it might take to fix?

I am not addicted to LJ, I can quit anytime but if I don’t post about my lustful thoughts about Naveen Andrews soon I just might explode! (no I am not 15 years old)
