You know, the way I see it, I did two unforgivable things. First, I dared to disagree with your “Logic and Reasoning” (and WHO, WHO, I ask you, should dare to not agree with the Logic and Reasoning of the Great Joe Malik?!?!) The other unforgivable thing I did was quote something quite arrogant you had written, and, (believe it or not) comment that it was, well, quite arrogant.

And for that I got my first very own Pit thread. (Well, I had to share it with Daniel…)

I think I’m pretty average on this board. I am not the smartest, I’m not the dumbest. I get agreed with a lot, I get disagreed with a lot. And I’ve been here a long time. But until the other day, I’ve never had a Pit thread devoted to me, either for being terribly stupid, or because someone disagreed with me. But you changed all that, and in such an amusing way!

Well, it’s all been quite entertaining, I must say.

Hey, c’mon, xeno–I got Phil to acknowledge that a truly libertarian society was not a practicable goal for the foreseeable future, given the dominant global paradigm, and I consider that to be a tremendous accomplishment. Well maybe I’m just contrary. I think that Joe should stay. He seems a decent debator. I didn’t read the gun thread but his arguments in the drug testing thread were good. His begining here was unfortunate but could be overcome. I started out little better, and look how widely respected I am. snort
He just needs to understand that we all have our little foibles. Daniel ( who I genuinely like, as I said: contrary ) can be stubborn, Joe Malik is overweening, I have my class prejudices, and John Corrado has been even been known to post without showering. More than a few members post with attitude, particularly in GD. Great Debates is an adult forum. We expect a person to be able to handle the heat.

Oh, and Joe? As one who has so egregiously wronged you, let me point out that I had never seen a single post of yours and have never heard your name until I saw this thread. Then the first thing I saw was “I’m smarter than you,” or whatever the exact wording was - I’m not going to bother looking it up. So sorry for my lack of psychic ability, but I reread that three or four times and still couldn’t come up with any explanation other than that you are an ass. Mayhap in the future you might want to actually address the people you’re talking to for us less intellectually gifted?

Joe, look, I am going to be nice. I agree, you are NOT an idiot. In fact, you appear to be pretty smart*. And, so am I, with an IQ of 153. BUT, here on the SDMB, we are surrounded by smart folks. Even tho I have insulted Pl & satan, they are pretty sharp also. In general, in the outside world, I do often feel like I am surrounded by “Forrest Gumps”, folks who have not read a book in 5 years, etc. But not here. Saying you are “smarter than…” HERE is suicide, and often wrong. In the outside world, my IQ puts me in the top 2%, here, if I am lucky, in the top 10%, and that counts all the “lesser folks”, who only post to say that “chocolate is their favorite flavor of Ice cream”. Probably, amoung the “heavy hitters”, here, I would be lucky to be about median. So, get over yourself, and play nice.

Pl, if your assualt here, in this thread alone, was not gratuituous, I don’t know what else it could be called. And, yes, back in on of the Libt threads, you really did offer to show us an ideal Libt gov’t, and I say “OK”, but you never responded to me. And, you know, it is certainly possible, that somewhere in the last year or so, you Libt’ DID answer those queries, but I did a search at that time, for some 6 months, ans did not find it. Moderators (acting as posters) were asking you Libt the same damn questions, so don’t say it was only me. Loo, even tho we disagree, I’ll stop with the flames if you will. But I won’t stop argueing, OK?

As for this unsubstantiated rumor that I have posted to the SDMB without showering- I suppose it depends upon the temporal definition thereof. I generally post from work, and I always shower before going to work. Now, one could claim that I make “unshowered” posts because I don’t actually specifically shower before making the post, but given the logistics of such, I think most people would consider such a requirement unfeasable. The closest I have done to such is having taken a long shower after a post, but that was in response to finding out that Mark Serlin was back and that I had actually tried to debate things with him.
