Daredevil - Born Again (now streaming)

I really enjoyed Fisk. Right now, I’m just looking at the pressure building up in him, as each lack of action on his part, AND his wife slowly poking the bear, and i’m squirming in delight at the thought of his eventual eruption.

Is Fisk presumed to be punching walls or people right now?

The cop and his partner should each right now be dead from that beat down, at the minimum very severely injured with an arm compound fracture and probable spinal injuries. They know he has fighting ability well beyond a normal trained expert fighter, let alone for a regular blind guy. I know these particular cops ain’t supposed to be so smart, but … them going from about to kill him to, heh blind guy can fight, go figure?

I’ve really liked it so far. Loved the Bullseye/DD one shot at the beginning of the first episode. Yeah there were some cuts and a little wonky CGI but its was a good fight and I liked how Bullseye was constantly throwing daggers during the up close fight. I really didn’t like Foggy in the previous seasons so…

One thing that wasn’t very clear was how Bullseye survived being thrown off the roof. It looked like he was unambiguously dead but then he’s in court.

I totally forgot this happened but in a previous season, Bullseye was operated on and his bones are reinforced with cogmium (in the comics, it’s adamantium).

Pretty sure they did a close up on his face as he was laying there and he opened his eyes.

Wonder if he is faking death and Karen and Daredevil know, but aren’t telling.

No, I meant Bullseye.

Correct

It was one of the very last scenes in the final season of the Netflix show, and was essentially a blink-and-you’ll-miss it plot hook. They clearly intended to bring him back with his enhanced spine, although that still doesn’t explain how he was able to take such a fall, bleed copiously from his head, and still survive without severe impairment except that he’s protected by plot armor and a desire to have Matt Murdoch face off with his most regular foes.

Stranger

The show is definitely improving. This week’s is a good one. I know this isn’t a comedy but hearing “We Built this City” in Latvian made me laugh harder than I did all week.

Dafuq you mean you “let the system handle it” Matt? You threw him of a high roof! he survived due to enhancements! you fully intended to kill him!

Do we think that cop that Matt threw headfirst into the apartment floor is only paralyzed, or dead? That hit looked absolutely vicious.

I enjoyed the Latvian choir, too.

You have to remember: any blunt-force trauma is nonlethal and has no lasting effects. Only bullets and knives can kill a person.

Also between this and the Thunderbolts trailer, Disney is really getting their money’s worth on the “We Built This City” song rights

I’m bored with this season for the most part. I really liked the first episode, but I am disappointed.

Ian Malcolm, “Uh…is there going to be, uh, any Daredevil…in this Daredevil show?”

So it’s “born again” but first several cycles of fertility treatments?

People forget how much filler there was in the Netflix seasons just to get them to 13 episodes. We don’t need a fight scene every episode. The pace has been great so far.

It’s been years since I watched the original show but my memory is he doesn’t even become Daredevil proper until the end of the first season.

Goddamn. That two minutes with Punisher and Daredevil was more acting, more character building, more involving that SO MUCH ELSE that has happened. More of them please!

I actually liked this episode the most so far. It felt more like An Episode instead of kind of messy. I wonder if this one was not retooled as much as the ones we’ve seen so far. Maybe what I’m disliking is I am sensing the rewrites and reshoots.
