I don’t get the DMB hate from so many people.
I think a lot of people just don’t like his simple catchy sweat vibe.
We’ve had this discussion here before and a lot of folks associate DMB with douchey college fraternity guys in Ambercrombie shirts and baseball hats. When DMB came out in the mid 90s, that was the style (at least it was at my college). People in the 90s listened to a lot of alternative rock and jam bands. Now “indie rock” is the trend and it’s uncool to listen to any band that any other human being on the planet has actually heard.
I’m not a fan of DMB but I have heard this song a few times and yeah, it is nice. Mainly because I can relate (middle-aged, married, kid in high school, thinking about how we might get to do some of the things we never really had the chance to do before…).
