My condolences to you and your family.
He will be missed, and I know I am feeling the board to be a poorer place this morning.
Fair winds, and God bless to him, and to you and your family.
Thank you for letting us know.

I’m so sorry to hear this even though I knew it was coming. I admired David a great deal. Deepest sympathies to you and your family.
My condolences to you and your family, Tim.
God go with you and your family, Tim. Your uncle was one of those few posters whose very name compelled us to click and read.
My condolences to you and all who loved him.
Condolences to you, Tim, and the rest of the family.
RIP, David. Among all the others who will, we, too, will miss you.
Thank you for posting this. May he continue to inspire you in the future.
Thank you for letting us know. He will be sorely missed, and I think that’s the best legacy any of us can leave.
I am sorry for your loss. May whatever gods there be, be with you and his family during these times.
My sincerest condolences to the family - Fly high Dave!
Well put. May that we all were to have such a life and have our passing be noted in such a heartfelt way – better than all the fame in the world. My condolences to all in his family.
My few words will probably do little to ease any sorrow, but I will nevertheless join the crowd to say that he will be missed, and that we do offer our condolences to his widow.

My condolences to you and the family.
High Flight was my dad’s favourite poem. I always think of it when a pilot dies. Thank you for posting it, and thank you for letting us know. And thank-you to David Simmons for his contributions to the board over the years. I send my sincere condolences to you, Tim, and to Wilma, and to your family.
Lord, guard and guide the men who fly
Through the great spaces in the sky.
Be with them always in the air,
In darkening storms or sunlight fair;
Oh, hear us when we lift our prayer,
For those in peril in the air!
For the last several months, I, along with my cousins, have had the pleasure of reading MPSIMS postings to my Dad. I have learned so much about my Dad in these lasts few months that it makes it so much harder to say goodbye. Before he had this forum, I remember him writing many “letters to the editor” of the Los Angeles Times and our local newspaper. He created many controversies and even received letters from politicians, govenors, and yes, even the FBI. Thank you for your thoughts and prayers. You have all shown me the man I knew my Dad to be.
Anne Arroyo (logged on as David Simmons)
Anne, my deepest sympathies to you and your family. Your father will be truly missed.
You have my sympathies as well, for what little they’re worth. David was a fine man who will be sorely missed by this little community as well as by your family.
Thank you for keeping us informed.
I hope the family will be consoled somewhat by reading David’s postings on the Board. Hard to imagine a finer gentleman. We share in your loss.
We are richer for having known him, poorer for having lost him.
My condolences on your loss. He was a wonderful person as evidenced by his writing here. Know that he touched a great many peoples’ lives.
