Thank you for letting us know. I’m so sorry for your loss, which is undoubtedly greater than ours, but I’m also sorry for our loss. We were all touched by Mr. Simmon’s life (some gently and a few with well deserved knocks to the noggin. )
Perhaps the greatest thing that can be said of a Doper: He fought ignorance, and he fought it well. Godspeed, David Simmons.
My deepest condolences to Wilma, Anne, Tim and the rest of the Simmons family. I don’t have words to express my sadness on behalf of your family. Just know that you are in our hearts and prayers.
I tried to thank him once for his service during WWII, and he would have none of it – far too humble to take any credit for his noble actions. I will miss him a great deal, both on the boards and at our Dopefests.

Thank you so much for taking the time to tell us this during what must be a very difficult time for your family. David will be deeply missed and remembered with fondness.
My condolences to all the family. Take care of yourselves, drink water, eat something, nap if you feel you need it, and cry if you want to. I hope for you all to go on one day, and live your lives well and carry his memory, his legacy forwards as you also make your own legacies.
He knew it was coming and he seemed at peace with it and himself. Just another in a long list of things to be proud about. He will certainly be missed.
