Now that I know there are other DC fans lurking around here, I want to discuss the show’s last ten episodes.
So, what did people think of this week’s episode?
Things I liked:
- I liked that Dawson went to visit Audrey in rehab, even though she recently drove her car into his house. It’s in keeping with his “nice guy” persona.
- I liked the story Audrey made up while they were crashing group therapy. The part I liked was that people were willing to give them the benifit of the doubt, for a while, despite how outlandish the story was.
- I thought it was extrodinarily sweet of Jack to volunteer marry Emma so she could stay. It wouldn’t have worked out since it’s ilegal and he’s gay, but it was still a sweet gesture.
- TV lust, since I know guys that age who really do drool over that sort of TV
- The “you’re not over me” teasing.
- Return of Drunk Joey. I like drunk Joey more than most drunk characters, so it made me smile to see her wilder, frequently more honest, side return. However, nothing can top the conversation that she, Andie and Jen had in “Future Tense” in season four:
Andie: Oh, there you guys are. I’ve been looking all over for you.
Joey: Well, except here, 'cause if you would have looked here, you would have found us, 'cause this, Andie, is where we are.
Jen: [Whispering] ignore her. So, where’s jack?
Andie: He’s avoiding me. Am I too controlling?
Both: Yes.
Andie: Thanks for the vote of confidence.
Joey: Andie, it’s not a judgment. Some people like salad dressing on the salad, and some people like it on the side.
Something about the serious delivery of that last line makes me giggle every time.
Things I didn’t like:
- Jen’s found herself another damaged person to fix her affections on. For once I’d like to see her fall for someone other than Dawson who is not screwed up in some way that she can’t help him.
- The scenes between Dawson and Audrey were cute, but I’m not sure I’m going to like the direction that they’ll take.
- Ditto for Joey and Pacey. Season four I was happy about their relationship, but it’s one of those things that is best in theory, in anticipation, and doesn’t work out in practice.
All in all I’d say it was a decent episode. What did you think?
