For the last six years, I have been taping Dawson’s Creek for my wife. I watch, of course, as I’m editing out commercials. What an incredible waste of film this show has been. Whine, whine, whine. I don’t know any adults with this many problems (yeah, it’s only a show, but still).
Well, in about three weeks it will come to well-deserved end. Apparently, one of the four major characters (Dawson (PLEASE BE HIM!), Pacey, Joey, or Jen) will die a well-deserved death.
Jen. Which makes me angry, because she’s probably my favorite character on this godforsaken show. Dawson’s actually gotten more tolerable with time; if I had a choice, I’d pick Joey.
I get my spoilers from a messageboard that has several members who are “in the know”, so they’re usually fairly accurate.
TNT or TBS (one of those) just started playing 4 hour blocks of this show (which I’ve never seen before), so I always run into it when I do some early morning pre-commute channel surfing. Good God, I can’t get through a minute without being thoroughly irritated with how conflicted (constipated) everyone gets about the tortures of being Young and Deep–so very, very Deep. And Sensitive (especially that title twerp). Are they still making it? Even if the characters haven’t grown up, I’d think its core audience would have by now. Yeesh.
Yeah I’ve been catching up on TBS too when I can. My favourite was Joey deciding not to go to college because her scholarship wouldn’t pay for the whole thing. She had to come up with 15K and she wouldn’t take a loan cause she didn’t want to be in debt. Jesus Christ girl, you are getting the majority paid for, shut the hell up and get a loan like everyone else. Apparently Dawson came up with the rest from an inheiritance.
I use to love this show but now the show has just gotten pathetic. I liked the show the first two seasons and then it really started going downhill after Kevin Williamson left in early season 3. It was like the entire show lost its creative direction when he left. Sure the PJ relationship was interesting the first go around but the show has rehashed the whole love triangle thing over the past three seasons way too much. I know she doesn’t, but I really wish it was Joey that dies. She is such a pathetic whiner. Season 4 was the last time we saw any decent character development. The last two seasons have been pointless. My bitterness over this once good show knows no end. I could rant about it forever. Oh well, I’m just glad this show is coming to a merciful end.
