Day Break 11/22

Hopper figures out during this, the second episode, who might have framed him.
It was a strong premiere. I hope the trend continues.

Do you realize this is the 100th thread you’ve started?

Do you realize this is the 75th thread you’ve started about a particular TV show?

75%. Wow…that’s some dedication. Not a critical comment, just something I thought I’d point out. (And no, I don’t have anything better to do at the moment :stuck_out_tongue: )

  1. Not until you said it.
  2. Not until you said it.
  3. Thank you for the percentage. And I had nothing else to do this afternoon, either :stuck_out_tongue: …except that I will need to program both VCRs; they will be busy tonight.

So did nobody else watch? I thought this was a good ep – layers upon layers – although seeing the ‘Day 2’ title halfway through was a tad confusing, since it was really <counts on fingers> Day 5?

And what does it say about a man when he has the William Tell Overture as his ringtone

It seems to have gotten a lot more violent already. I like how they’re handling it, though. And I don’t mind seeing the Lost previews at the end of the ep.

Speaking of the “Lost” preview, what does Hurley say to Locke at end of the one where they are talking about super heroes and powers? I played it back several times but I can’t make out what his last line is.

Me, too. We listened to it 3 times but couldn’t hear it.

he said, “Yeah, but future-seeing isn’t.” (He was reacting to what Locke said about a normal reaction after surviving the blown hatch; whatever happened to Desmond, it certainly wasn’t normal, since he apparently now has precog powers.)

Okay thanks. They need to clean that up a bit before broadcast. But that’s a couple of months away.

Anyone want to give me a recap of this episode (from last week)? My DVR didn’t record it like I thought it did, and I don’t want to go into tonight cold…

Thanks!

My apologies if I’m wrong on the names. I remember faces well, not so much names.

Two more days went by. Each one started with Hopper still bleeding from his shoulder wound and running into the bathroom to patch himself up.

The days start to blend together here, but on the first day, he found the package contained an hourglass, which he proceeded to hurl at the guys who were following him in the black car. He managed to save the coffee-getting woman from getting hit by a bus by using his badge and getting her name, phone number, and workplace. Turns out she works for a judge (IIRC). (The next day he calls her to make sure she’s safe.) Hopper made sure his girlfriend didn’t die, and managed to track down the woman who sent him the package – turns out to be the DA’s (Burton?) lover – but by the time he gets there, she’s dead. She’s been killed by the drug lord he had in the safe house – who kidnaps Hopper and Burton, then kills Burton.

Next time round, he gets the package again then confronts the guys tailing him – managing to get one thug’s cell phone. Hopper hightails it to Burton’s house to find the girl, who works for Garza. Garza asked her to phone, but she didn’t know what the package meant. Meanwhile Burton calls the thugs, and gets Hopper. Burton says these thugs have been putting the squeeze on him, which is why he sold out Damian the drug lord. The drugthugs kill the girl, kidnap Burton and Hopper, then frame Hopper for Burton’s death. The episode ends with Hopper’s female partner shooting a cop who showed up at her door.

Oh – and on both days, Hopper’s girlfriend gets escorted around by Chad, and on Day Two Chad spends the night at her place on the couch.
