This thread would appear right after I sprained my ankle, wouldn’t it? I wouldn’t be much fun on the dance floor, I’m afraid, unless I got a much cooler looking cane (with, I don’t know, a snake head on top) and some pimp clothes. But even then, I’d just have to chill at the bar, talking to chicks…
You know, that doesn’t sound like a bad idea. 
But, seriously, I already have plans. Nice to get a handle on who some of the DC dopers are though!
Hey kiddies, here’s a possible travel plan for the Northern Virginians (Opal, Ultra and myself)… We can meet at my house, and drive to Rosslyn (15 mins) and park in my spot there, and catch a cab (there a cab line in front of the Metro which is very close to my parking garage). It should be about $5-$10 ride to Midnight. Apparently parking around that is going to be extra difficult due to the IMF/World Bank protests and stuff (see: Parking issues this weekend for Midnight) Total travel time should be about 30 minutes!

I, too, already have plans for Saturday night. Not to mention, nothing to wear that could be appropriate for “goth/industrial/dark.”
Well, I don’t have any commitments for Saturday night, but there is absolutely no way on earth my mom is driving me to Metro on Saturday. Unless I get a ride, I’m out of luck, and I’d need to be home after only a few hours for my mom’s consent.
T o top all that off, I don’t dance, so I guess I’ll have to sit this one out.
nyctea - my only concern with that plan is that it would be a 15 minute drive from Rosslyn back to your house at the end of the night. Considering that I expect to be quite un-sober, I’m guessing you will probably be the same…
dwalin: how old are you? I can’t remember if you are 18 yet or not–it’s 18+ to get into the club.

Hrm… well…um. Jurph… Brooke and Justin and I will be out front before 9. I’ll have wierd pigtails with ribbons in them and snazzy high heeled boots. Of course, that may well describe a lot of people.

Well I for one had a hell of a time.
Despite the fact that the usual venue was closed and we went goth clubbing in a carpeted hotel bar; despite the fact that the music was coming from a boom-box on a church supper folding table; despite my reluctance to show up in a mesh shirt; and despite the fact that I was herded to the new location by three cute, disillusioned, and haughty goth-girlies who dismissed my grey cargo pants as “khakis”… it was a blast. I met the wild and boisterous ultrafilter, the dangerously sassy and wonderfully friendly nyctea scandiaca, and the famous and fabulously dressed OpalCat (hi Opal!).
I am greatly looking forward to getting down with my bad self (and all other bad selves who wish to attend) and bringing my fiancée (or at least her bad and leather-clad self) next time. One last thing: all of those photos are fabrications. I deny everything, and admit nothing.
Wow - looks like you guys had a blast! If you go again, I’m definitely joining - will have to figure out what to wear - you were all so cool.

I’m going to be out of town this weekend, but the following weekend I’m going to try to get out there again. The problem is that I’ll need to find an overnight babysitter for my 8 year old. That weekend is the 18 month anniversary party for DC Midnight so it should be a good night to go. Failing that, I’ll probably go the following weekend. Or I may do both. I had so much fun I want to go lots! nyctea and I have already made a pact to become regulars
