The 94th has also been a tad noisy, the times I’ve been there in the evening. I’ve never been to the CCBC but it sounds more conducive to conversation, and being able to get there by Metro is good.
Saturday the 5th sounds good to me; close enough to look forward to, but far enough off so that people probably don’t have it booked yet. Any reaction on the date?
I would love to meet sometime but the weekends that are mentioned I have plans. The next two weekends I am helping my bf move down from Harrisburg (YEA!) and the weekend after that I will be in training in Phoenix. If anyone wants to meet me for lunch sometime I would be happy to do that pretty much anytime during the week. I had lunch with Falcon last week and it was nice.
HUGS!

February 5th works for me…anything later than that and we start running into when my parents wanted to come down. As for places…I honestly have no idea. I don’t go out a lot, so I’ll defer to those who know more than me…
That leaves you out for the weekends of 1/15, 22 & 29. Does that mean that 2/5 is okay with ya?
I walked by the Capitol City Brewing Co. this afternoon and it turns out they’re not on NY Ave as it says on their web site, but on the corner of 11th & H Street, one block south of NY Ave. That puts it even closer to Metro Center (one block away)- I just didn’t want anybody to get lost.
I say we keep pushing the date back until 9 out of 10 of us can make it. 2/5 and 2/12 are fine with me. I will go back to make sure they are open on Saturdays (places you’d normally expect to be open are frequently closed on weekends in the business district).
I would be interested in meeting up with everyone in DC. I was disappointed that I missed the last one, but I’ll do my damndest to make this one. February 5th sounds great. See you later.
John, put me down for a definate maybe. (It depends on whether my wife either feels like coming or she doesn’t mind if I “abandon” her on a Saturday night.)
Any definates as to the CC Brewing’s address?
Judges 14:9 - So [Samson] scraped the honey into his hands and went on, eating as he went. When he came to his father and mother, he gave some to them and they ate it; but he did not tell them that he had scraped the honey out of the body of the lion.
I stopped by on my way home from work this afternoon and ask about Saturday hours. They are open until midnight. I also searched for an address, I didn’t see any number on the doors, but you can’t miss the place, it takes up the whole corner of the block at the intersection of 11th & H street, Northwest.
Exit Metro Center station and walk one block north (it’s a slight uphill grade in the direction of north) on 11th Street until you get to H Street. There is a one block margin of error in these direction since it’s possible to exit the metro station at four different locations, but we are all reasonably sharp people and shouldn’t have any problems. I have faith in you all.
Now that we seem to agree on 2/5, what time do we like? Many will need to get home from work, get pretty and then metro in to DC, so how about 8:00?
Ok, Im late to this thread, but wouldnt mind meeting y’all on the 5th. D-town Dc is the last place Id like to go, but if thats what works for everybody, I’ll make the sacrifice.
Columbia seems like a more sensible site, 1/2 btwn the cities, and theres a pretty cool pool bar there called Nottinghams- or at least there was. It’s upscale- dont have to worry bout gettin in fights and stuff. Anyway, you decide. Just let me know what time.
The CCBC is a nice, trendy joint located in the business district of downtown DC. It is by no means a dive and may even border on classy. You can drive to a metro stop in Greebelt and tunnel in from there if you don’t want to drive into the city. For those of you who do want to drive all the way in, the rush hour parking restrictions are lifted at 6:30, at which time both sides of most streets can be parked on.
Well, it all sounds wonderful, but I will be working on 2/5. Oh, well. I was at the last one, I suppose I can’t be lucky every time. Say Hi to Nicky for me!
