DC/Baltimore DoperFest?

I should be back from FLA by the 5th so pencil me in.

And to anyone not familiar with DC and CCBC- make sure you go to the one downtown, not the one next to Union Station.

I prefer the beer at John Harvard’s…but CCBC is cool.

Why should rush hour be any problem anyway, since 2/5 is a Saturday? In any case, we’re talking about the middle of downtown DC. Everything there is upscale. There’s really no danger walking around that area or going into any bar/restaurant in that area. Since it’s a Saturday, you should be able to park reasonably close to the place or you can take Metro.

It would be nice to vary things though, so perhaps next time we’ll do Columbia or Greenbelt or College Park or something.

Too true. Do we all hate that reply with quote option yet?

grumble, grumble,grumble
God-damn downtown DC
grumble, grumble
$7 beers
Grumble!

Next time lets meet in the only REAL city around, Baltimore! The problem with DC is that the air saps your IQ. As an example I cite Congress.

Cecil said it. I believe it. That settles it.

Seriously, If everyone wants DC, then I’ll strap on the body armor and come on down. What line is this place on? ( metro) And which Station?

Cecil said it. I believe it. That settles it.

I’ve been keeping up with this thread. I want to be there, but not sure what I’ll do about my s.o. if he’s not working that evening…don’t want to bring him and he probably wouldn’t like me going alone. I may need to come up with a cover story, but I’ll try to make it.

Hey Falcon:
I haven’t seen any posts yet from the Tidewater faction. Could it be we’re still pissed that you stood us up at our meeting? Naaahh!!
I’m gonna come and take you up on that “Dinner on me” offer you extended!
Seriously, though, I ran the idea of trekking up to DC past the wife. Didn’t get an enthusiastic response, but it wasn’t a flat no either. So I’ll work on it and, if we come, I’ll trade you homebrew for pub grub. Fair enough?

I wouldn’t know how much the beers are in DC, since I don’t drink beer, but I don’t think the food in DC is that much more than in Baltimore. In any case, perhaps we’ll meet in Baltimore next time. Life is long and the Baltimore/Washington metropolitan area is big, so we can eventually meet in many places.

I think it’s time to bump this thread back to page 1…

Well? We discuss this for 7 days and then go quiet? Are we gonna do this or not?

Cecil said it. I believe it. That settles it.

I believe we are going to do it. Everything has pretty much been worked out. The place, date & time have been set & directions have been posted. What else is there to discuss?

That was my understanding, too. I only bumped it back up so that if any DC area people missed it last week, they’d see it now.

I didn’t catch his name because he didn’t post to the thread (but I do see where you said he would be there); I will put him on the list.

Given that the DC Doperfest is less than a week away, it seems appropriate to bump this to the top one last time.

RT,

You gonna make the name tags, or maybe that can be something to keep us all talking while we’re there: trying to guess who’s who just from conversation!

I’ll be the one holding a list of bizarre questions.

Not just a bump to the top, but also a fascinating question…

How the heck will we recognize each other?

I suppose we can all just congregate around Opal and ask her to stand in a prominent place…

Will we be seated as a group (the Adams Party), or just congregate together by a “hey, he looks like a Bricker”?

JMCJ

This is not a sig.

With 18-20 people expected, I am sure I will need to call the CCBC and reserve a bunch of tables, or maybe even a section. I doubt there will be any other parties as large, so walk in & look around. We’ll be there, and if we’re not then you’re the first!

Oh, and let’s have none of this fashionably late crap either.

What name will the tables be under? It’ll be easier if we can ask for a certain area, especially if we’re the first ones there!
