DC Comics' 52... dammit, now I'm psyched.

Not really keeping up on Aqua-continuity. Dunno.

That would be interesting, as Manta has basically been portrayed a racist African-American separatist who’s always wanted his own sea-based empire away from eeEEeeevil surface white people.

Well, yeah, that’s why I suggested it. Of course, that would rather remove him from the list of possible Aqua-villains, and considering the positive tone of the “secret”, it might be a bit too pleasent for Black Manta to get what he has always wanted- after all, isn’t he responsible for the deaths of at least 2 Aqua-family members?

Too late. They slept together in an issue of Guy Gardner: Warrior (perhaps one of the ones written by Beau Smith).

It may just be the deceptively positive tone of the secret. I figue whoever it is looking for respect they’ve always wanted may not be all that respectable.

47. Look! Up in the Sky! - A mysterious and powerful new character named Supernova will make his debut in Metropolis. But is this actually a famillar face with a new look?

Superboy. Was this already announced, or did I imagine it? Seriously, I could have sworn that I read that it would be him.

Neither. It’s one of two popular fan-speculations I’ve seen - the other being ‘the real Booster’, by people who don’t believe that Booster Gold would do what he’s been doing.

Unlike Batwoman, they haven’t bothered leaking anything about Supernova.

Batwoman got lots of press.

Is the rest of it ok?

I didn’t care for #6, mostly taken up by a boring fight sequence in China, but I have been enjoying the other issues so far. It’s a nice spotlight on some characters that never get time to shine, and the building mysteries are moving along slowly but nicely. If you’re not dying to find out what happens, wait a year and read it all in TPBs – I’m sure the ultra-decompressed style will read better that way.
