Oh, and Neurotik, I think I speak for the grand majority of regulars when I say “Get yo’ self down here, and quick!” or something along those lines. This is a MAD-wide festivity, so bring yourself, your friends, your family, your pets, and several tubs of silly putty (not required) and maybe a roll of aluminum foil, it could come in handy- and you’ll be welcomed with open arms or at least some type of sandwich!

I’m sorry, Neurotik, but only us special people can come to the lunch bunch. We’re each vetted by a standing committee before we’re allowed to participate. (I remember how much I sweated when trying to explain all those old pictures of me dressed as Nikita Kruschev!) If you’re interested, send along a resume, a copy of your I-9, and a current photo and we’ll get the ball rolling for you; the process should take six to eight weeks.

I got the call from panache but wasn’t here to take it - I hadda stay home with the Tzeroling 'cos she didn’t have school. I’m in for the next round - which, I presume, is 10 October?
Lunch bunch, for all you calendar challenged people, will be this Friday (that tomorrow) Oct. 3. Last week’s was supposed to be a make up for the hurricane although just Panache and myself showed up (even though it was Olentzero who suggested it then never showed up…that surprise must be really old by now). So we’ll try again…noon, McPherson Square Metro, 14th Street exit, near the outside elevator.

Yeah, you heard me. New digs. It’s kind of a good news/bad news situation. Good news is I got a real nice apartment on 13th & Mass NW - hardwood floors, all utilities included, rehabbed kitchen. Bad news is it’s a one-bedroom and I’m moving there by myself… Joy and I are splitting up. Fortunately it’s very amicable, but we’re quite sure a reconciliation isn’t gonna be on the table.
And since it’s only 5 minutes from McPherson Square, maybe we could do a housewarming Lunch Bunch just for kicks.

It’s actually not that expensive, at least compared with several of the one-bedroom apartments I looked at. It’s pretty competitive. Of course, if you want, you can drop me an e-mail and we can compare notes.

Just posting a reminder that Lunch Bunch is scheduled for next Friday, Oct. 17, at noon meeting at the elevator outside the McPherson Square 14th Street exit. I’m posting this early as I’ll be relaxing in Myrtle Beach and not here. So Panache, make a note of this and bump it again next Wed. or so. I’ll think of y’all while I’m lying on the beach.
