Anniz and I are moving into a new apartment this weekend in Montgomery Village, MD (near Gaithersburg). We’re moving from Rockville, so it’s a half-dozen exits up I-270, and about 9 miles away.
I have a lot of stuff. So much stuff that I’d like someone to help me move. I’ve already hired a moving company to do it, but there’s a lot that I don’t feel comfortable with them moving, like my computers and CDs. I also have a lot of stuff in “open” boxes, those without sealed tops. All of them are going in my car.
Since Anniz’s back troubles renders her unable to do any lifting, I would love for someone(s) to give me a hand with things.
I don’t need more than one or two volunteers, and I will pay you well (a free dinner!). I just need someone who has nothing to do this Saturday who wouldn’t mind carrying boxes to/from my car and new third-floor apartment.
Sorry. I’d love to help, and would love to meet you (since you seem to beg off other dopefests at the last minute and the lovely, but I, like Jonathan Chance am doing the family thing this weekend. Mrs. Spritle and I are taking The Littlest Doper[sup]TM[/sup] to a Punkin Patch for hay rides, cider and many photo ops. Best of luck with all those movers. I’ll keep an ear out for a funky base line.
I would absolutely love to help… but I can’t. I’m off to St. Mary’s City this weekend with the Tzeroling and a friend of hers to show 'em the seventeenth-century re-enactment shindig that’s going on this weekend. Gonna be a Swedish pikeman, I am I am!
Poor Montfort and Anniz… they must think nobody loves them.
Torture me, why don’cha. Unfortunately, what I have going on is a memorial service for my step-grandmother (no condolences needed, she was 93 and pretty well out of it, it’s OK), so I can’t exactly ditch that to go romp with the movers. Le sigh. Next time maybe.
