DC/MD Dopers: Want to help Anniz and I move this weekend?

Anniz and I are moving into a new apartment this weekend in Montgomery Village, MD (near Gaithersburg). We’re moving from Rockville, so it’s a half-dozen exits up I-270, and about 9 miles away.

I have a lot of stuff. So much stuff that I’d like someone to help me move. I’ve already hired a moving company to do it, but there’s a lot that I don’t feel comfortable with them moving, like my computers and CDs. I also have a lot of stuff in “open” boxes, those without sealed tops. All of them are going in my car.

Since Anniz’s back troubles renders her unable to do any lifting, I would love for someone(s) to give me a hand with things.

I don’t need more than one or two volunteers, and I will pay you well (a free dinner!). I just need someone who has nothing to do this Saturday who wouldn’t mind carrying boxes to/from my car and new third-floor apartment.

Anyone interested? E-mail me if you are.

Thanks!

I don’t know why, but for the life of me I swear when I first read the thread title it said:

“DC/MD Dopers: Want to help Anniz and I make love this weekend?”

I think I have mild dyslexia, or something like that.

A little trust here: At least make it “Want to help Anniz and me move this weekend…”

Or wishful thinking.

Wish I could help y’all, but Saturday is booked. Good luck.

Mike,

Normally, I’d be happy to help, but unfortunately I’ll be in LA this weekend. Sorry. :frowning:

Somehow, I guess you missed the part where I said I hired a moving company, with three movers as part of the deal. Porn situation, anyone?

Seriously, we’ll manage if no one can help. I was just hoping one (or two) of the DC natives had some free time.

Say hi to everyone in LA for us, Dave

[sub]I should’ve titled the thread “Handle Anniz’s underwear and get paid for it!”[/sub]

Yeah, from a marketing perspective that’d sell better.

Love to help but we’re taking Baby Kate to Howl-O-Scream at Busch Gardens this weekend.

Sorry about that.

Sorry. I’d love to help, and would love to meet you (since you seem to beg off other dopefests at the last minute  and the lovely, but I, like Jonathan Chance am doing the family thing this weekend. Mrs. Spritle and I are taking The Littlest Doper[sup]TM[/sup] to a Punkin Patch for hay rides, cider and many photo ops. Best of luck with all those movers. I’ll keep an ear out for a funky base line.

Hey! If Spritle is DC-Based, why isn’t he coming to the Dope-A-Ween!

Mrs. F. and I will be in Florida this weekend - FIL’s 60th birthday party. Hope the move goes well!

Working on it, but Mrs. Spritle isn’t too bit on the long drive with TLD. I have been reading the thread, though. I know it’s not the same, but…

Yeah, but now we’re apparently having a Cheesesteak Challenge…

haaaaghghghghg… Cheeeeesesteaaaaak.

I would absolutely love to help… but I can’t. I’m off to St. Mary’s City this weekend with the Tzeroling and a friend of hers to show 'em the seventeenth-century re-enactment shindig that’s going on this weekend. Gonna be a Swedish pikeman, I am I am!

Poor Montfort and Anniz… they must think nobody loves them. :frowning:

Torture me, why don’cha. Unfortunately, what I have going on is a memorial service for my step-grandmother (no condolences needed, she was 93 and pretty well out of it, it’s OK), so I can’t exactly ditch that to go romp with the movers. Le sigh. Next time maybe.

I wish I could, Montfort, but stuff’s been piling on me (though it is my fault):

 1. Attend a play (modern adaption of an old stupid one)
 2. Get costume for Dope-A-Ween
 3. Sleep
 4. Write two papers, study for a quiz in one class and a mid-term in another.

I will be very happy if I manage to do half of it.

You’ve gotta check with your fellow Dopers before scheduling things like this, Michael!

You’re telling me. :frowning:

Ahh well, I could use the exercise…
