I’ll be coming. Does anybody need a ride from around Greenbelt?
Bump!!
28.5 hours until the party!
28.5 hours until the party!
Special announcement!
For those of you driving…
Mr Lineberry, who owns the lot across the street from us, has graciously consented to allow party attendees to park in the parking lot of the now-defunct general store across the street.
So feel free to park there when you arrive. Our driveway and parking space might get a little tight! Then just walk up the drive and on in!
Vanilla
Chocolate
Strawberry
Mint Chocolate Chip
Those are the ice cream flavors inbound for the party!
Mint chocolate chip! The pain!
sobs
And my firkinblertfirkinfirkinblert best friend had to be moving the day of yer shindig…
Neiddy, it’s the left side, where the CUE busses are.
Oh, btw, goboy will not be joining us, as he got shafted (no pun intended, originally) by his company to edit a big-ass friggin’ document this weekend.
I am glad my company is not smart enough to generate one of those:)
22.5 hours until the partee.
BTW, Jonathan, I have this itty bitty assignment for child psyc wherein I’m s’posed to observe a child between 1 and 11 years old for two periods of five minutes. I was hoping I could fawn over Baby Kate and watch her smile lots:)
I was gonna go for Lucretia’s kids, but I think they might be more suspicious, as they’re older and they can run away if they see a strange man writing on a sheet of paper whenever they do X. Which I’m supposed to guard against by being invisible, but I forgot my invisibility cloak at the dry-cleaners.
Thanks iampunha! I’ll be the one wearing a Wang Federal T-shirt.
(just worried about the rain; will the house be big enough for everybody if it starts pouring?)
Thanks for the offer iampunha; really appreciate it.
I kept checking this thread and apparently I didnt check it often enough.
So, what am I going to do? I rented a car and am practicing driving over the weekend…
HAVE FUN EVERYBODY!!
And once again, thanks iampunha!!
What?!? moi’s not gonna be there? Who am I going to give that drink to?
Don’t cry, Montfort, you finally get to meet me! That is, unless you come down with another of those mysterious illnesses you seem to get every time you’re supposed to come to a Dopefest where I will be…
Whoo! Yeah! Whoo!
Err, I mean cough sneeze wheeze.
I do have a few things to do in NoVA tomorrow afternoon, so I might not show up until 5pm or so.
Dateline, Short Hill Mountain. 6/1/01 8:52 PM.
Weather: Rain.
Tomorrows weather from The Weather Channel:
6/2 Partly Cloudy. Highs in the mid-70s. 40% chance of scattered showers in the evening.
So don’t let the weather scare you!
And, the house is, I hope, big enough. We’ll work it out, never you all fear.
I just picked up the punch and other cool stuff for the party. Two of our friends just arrived from Delaware. They’re helping us set up and staying overnight. Right now they want to introduce me to something called ‘Farscape’.
15 Hours to the party!
15 Hours to the party!
15 Hours to the party!
15 Hours to the party!
Has Dan Rather been notified?
Shit!!
I really need to get online more often! I’d love to come, but can’t make it unless someone can give me a ride… and it’s probably too late to arrange that
However, if someone would like to work a miracle for a somewhat out-of-touch doper currently living in Stafford, VA (roughly an hour south of DC on 95), e-mail me at gheng_wei@yahoo.com tonight or tomorrow AM and I’ll arrange for directions/phone number or whatever - very last minute, I know, but I’ll toss out the plea anyway.
Le Sang
I have to be in Arlington from 1-3 tomorrow, and then I have to stop in Sterling for a bit on my way to Purcellville. But, I have all my directions (I’ve lived in the DC area for 10 years now, and I still get lost in NoVA on occasion), and I’m good to go.
See everyone in about sixteen hours!
Do I have to say it?
5 Hours until the doors open!
5 Hours until the doors open!
5 Hours until the doors open!
5 Hours until the doors open!
The media is here…I expect ‘Entertainment Tonight’ will provide full coverage but I won’t allow that Mary Hart woman on the grounds! She’ll just have to do her stand ups from across the street! Teach her a lesson!
We’re moving the last of the furniture and then I’m off to pick up the beer, wine, snacks and other last minute items!
No worries there! I look forward to seeing you all.
Ah, damnit, Le Sang . . . if you could have found your way to Vienna Metro I’d have loved to give you a ride. As it is I’m on my way there in a bit to pick up NeidHart and Captain Amazing.
See you in a few, Jonathan:)
Many thanks to Jonathan Chance for a fabulous 'do. Everything was great. If I’m still in the area this fall, I will be at the Halloween party for sure. It was great meeting those Dopers I hadn’t met yet, and seeing again those I had–especially John Corrado, who I hadn’t seen in a very long time.
Bluesman: You are a very very bad man!
Well, I’m home now. Definitly worth the 1 1/2 hour drive. Jonathan, you know how to throw a party, man. The mime you hired to entertain was great, if a bit on the quiet side. I’ll definitely be coming back for the Halloween party. Great to see everyone again, and can’t wait until the next one!
Lucretia you can sit on my lap anytime.
I’d just like to say that the people I met from the boards were some of the classiest people I’ve ever met. Collectively and individually, I was impressed by all of you. You were all kind and warm, intelligent and witty.
I’m proud to say that I know all of you.
OK, enough with the heart rendering tearjerker part. Let me tell you a little story. About John Corrado and the killer volleyball net ;). On second thought, I’ll let someone else do it. [sub]By the way, let us know how your ankle is, OK?[/sub]
I’d also like to say to Jonathan Chance, thanks for the invitation. You and your wife were wonderful hosts. Hopefully I’ll be able to go to another one of your events.
Montfort, the Phils won’t last the whole season. They’ll fall apart like they always do cough, 1964, cough
Weirddave, my Steelers are gonna tattoo your Ravens all over the place next year!
And to the rest of you, you can rest assured that I’ll have more to say when I have the opportunity to do so.
[evil Cartman] I love you guys! [/evil Cartman]
Ahhhh! Wonderful time yesterday! Rubbing elbows & other body parts all together with Dopers & people who I have no idea who they were. Levitating over toddlers, balancing plates & cups, and admiring Calvin’s beautiful brown eyes!
Bravissimo! [loud applause]
And I’ll bet the ankle is VERY stiff this morning!
A big hand for the audience participation, also!
You throw a WONDERFUL party, Jonathan Chance! Many thanks to wonderful wife & daughter & yerself!
I had a great time, enjoyed myself immensely! Thank you, Jonathan!
The only disappointment was the severe shortage of unattached women.
(that and the gnats)
