There are intestine soups in an amazing range of cultures (just Google it; I dare ya!). In Mexico, it’s menudo. I’m pretty sure I’ve eaten it before and survived.
Welcome back, picu. I was just thinking the other day that it had been months since we’d seen you in here.
Hi Soapy! How are things going? Did you ever even tell us how your Mother’s Day weekend went?
Made it through lots of stuff at work, have had my hair cut, am giong to take inventory of my various lists and make sure I have everything ready for tomorrow. Then it’s out to the garden to get some more plants in the ground. Exciting, no?
Oy… Just got an email from someone who apparently used to be the base PAO. It’s apparently a detachment of another base now, and I need to ask a whole different branch of the service.
“Hello, is this the place that stores the things that go ‘BOOOM!’ ‘BANG!’ and ‘KAPOW!’?”
Eh. MamaTig’s knee replacement incision was way bigger than that. As was the nearly neck-to-bum incision from my back surgery as a kid! Though I don’t have pictures of that. Too bad. g
It is my weekend. I don’t have to be at work again until 10 AM Thursday. The relief I feel cannot be described.
Whew! What a day! I received an unpleasant surprise at work, but will have to deal with it as the boss is gone. Bleh. Nothing like an unexpected tasker with major changes to how it’s done to just blow your whole day.
We went on a 15 mile bike ride yesterday. My hiney is sore…or more appropriately, the place where the seat rests between the cheeks. Oy vay! The weather was stunning, however. The ride was gorgeous. All along the Carbon River with peaks of Mt. Rainier in various places.
Nice OP, **Haze. ** I look forward to more pictures.
I read, but didn’t retain much.
Bobbio, you’ll have do better than that to squick me out.
I suppose I should get dinner going. I’m tired, but need to get a move on.
My back is still hurting… I can tell when the Aleve that I am taking wears off.
Otherwise, I haven’t done much at all today except try to feel better. Actually, I’ve got a new idea and I’ve spent hours and hours of the last few days just looking at recipes and trying to decide what will work.
Have fun in Paris,** GT**. And, btw, sorry that I missed you when we were in Hilliard this year. We were unbelievably busy, though. We had been looking forward to using the pool and the hot tub at our hotel, but didn’t even have time to do that!
Oh, I know what “have no truck with” means. Down to “truck” meaning “business” rather than “lorry” And I realized you were making a joke there.
I just responded in kind
But I’ll fight you anyway, even if I cannot represent ignorance
**Moonie **-- ritalin (in whatever form) and evenings so do not mix  But at least you could pay proper attention to the noises of the night as you lay awake
Welcome back to all the previously missing Mumpers.
Feeling better today. Yes, I’ll gladly take some roast goat, but must pass on the intestine soup.
Work was meh. Afterward I went to Wally World with my mom to buy fabric for the Princess’ Sailor Chibi Moon cosplay. Could not find plain brown suit-type fabric for my Yomiko Readman vest, and since the Jo-Ann’s in Downey closed over a year ago and I can’t be arsed to comb the thrift shops for a brown vest, will have to buy my fabric online. I did find a nice vest pattern though. Also bought groceries - is it my imagination or does Wal-mart not carry juice boxes ever?
Good Mornin’ Y’all! Up and caffienatin’ though I’d much rather just go back to bed. I’m all stuffded up. ICK! I shall survive though.
Nuttin’ else to report. Had men’s night last night. It was good. Matter of fact I brought home left over sallit and two baked N.O.T.. Ima grill some chicken boobs for dindin tonight and slice 'em up over the sallit and heat up the N.O.T.. Should be good.
The offer I got from the Uni indicated “overseas fee” and that they need proof that I can pay. I wrote asking whether printouts from my banks’ webpages would be acceptable (Spanish banks don’t go for the kind of statements UK banks issue) and whether I wouldn’t be “local” fee.
Yes and yes, and the local fee is 40% of the overseas fee. Happy happy!
My computer is fixed now (sorta.) I still need IE 7 installed, but at least my Pro/E will work and I can do some actual work! I know, it sounds weird to me, too. But you try surfing the net since Thursday - BORING!
Outlook isn’t working right, though. I don’t get to read the fifteen million corporate emails that have backed up since I’ve been offline. Yet.
Glad to see all the oldies-but-goodies back in here!
