Looking thru the lost & found & look what I found, a new MMP which somebody, anybody, everybody neglected to start. (I usually only start one when I have a topic.)
So what have you lost…or found?
I lost my mind years ago. It’s not coming back.
I’ve lost my eternal optimism and belief that people are essentially decent - Trump has shown me to be very, very wrong. <pose of woe and despair>
I’m also losing my vocabulary. We were having breakfast at our favorite cafe on Saturday and there was a little boy there playing with handcuffs. I could NOT remember that word - I kept wanting to call them cufflinks. Honestly, more and more these days, I can’t find the word I want. I heard something on the news about possible link between statins and memory issues - I’m starting to believe it.
Incidentally, who are you and what have you done with my orthotic inserts???
More rain in the forecast. Ugh. FIL should get out of the hospital today - I truly hope they put off their planned visit here. **FCD **is about to call his orthopedist - I fully expect spinal surgery #7 to come soon. So, yeah, Happy Moanday!
Good Mornin’ Y’all! Up and caffeinatin’. YAWN ‘Tis a sunny 61 Amurrkin out with a predicted high of 88 and sunny for the day. It’ll be around 75 this mornin’ while we funeralize so that lessens the chances of havin’ a heat stroke whilst standin’ outside in a black suit.
I frequently lose and find my cellphone. Seriously. It’s always somewhere in da cave, but where is the mystery. OK, right now I know it’s on the night stand beside my side of the bed. At other times, it could be in the kitchen, livin’ room, study, back porch, laundry room etc. I leave it all over da cave. All I know it seems to never be in the same place I am when I want to use the dang thing.
OK, I need more caffeine and rumbly tummy wants sustenance. Then, at some point I must awaken OYKW so’s we can commence purtification for funeralizin’. ICK!
Happy Moanday Y’all!
I keep an aggie on me at all times when I’m out and about. If someone tells me I’ve lost my marbles, I pull it and and show it “No I haven’t. Here’s one right here.”
also, as if you ever thought I wouldn’t, BLURF!
Blurf.
Had a dream Saturday night that Swampy’s buddies, including the dearly departed Ron, all became Dopers and joined the sideshow on FB. Much PG rated lunacy ensued… (making this an obvious dream)
I found some marbles, which means somebody out there lost theirs.
Up, caffeinated, and sheveled. I have my annual performance review today. Envy me.
Damnit. I just realized that I could have titled this the Party Attire MMP.
Instead of “Hello, my name is ____” tags for Mooommm’s party, I’m proposing the purchase/wearing of shirts with your user name. For some of us it’s really easy while others might need to search a bit more; for instance, a certain lunchmeat lover might get inspiration here or there.
What say ye?
Just remember to have it in time for the party, you need to order soon!
Are you sure they aren’t yours?
Did you ever have your own marbles? :o
Gee, Spidey, now I’m sorry I didn’t make it a costume party!
Just found out from a couple of the facilities guys that I’m about to get an office mate. Oh well, it was fun while it lasted…
Afternoon, mumpers! I was largely MIA from last week, things at work got rather too hectic for my liking and they’re in danger of getting away from me this week too, and it’s only Monday.
What have I lost? Well, apart from my sanity and my dignity, I can’t think of anything I’ve lost recently. My mum lost her mobile phone yesterday, so she rang me from her landline to ask me to ring her mobile. Why on earth she didn’t ring one from the other is a mystery to me, but she’s 81 so I humour her. Eventually found that she’d left her phone with a friend so she will get it back tomorrow and I’ll have to remember to ring her on the landline tonight. Good job I wrote myself a note about that…
My keys like to hide from me from time to time.
No, just write in “Inigo Montoya.”
Don’t feel bad, Mooom. A couple of weeks ago I called a screwdriver a firefighter.
I was going to get my brakes fixed today, but I stood in the lobby at Meineke for five minutes without anyone noticing, so I left. I’ll make an appointment at the one near irk for later this week. It was probably for the best anyway. I don’t know if it’s sinuses or I have a cold, but I’m a Sick Kitty today. I blame the black walnut tree. Stoopid tree.
All sense of human dignity whatsoever. I’ve always blamed it on my health going bad/questionable. After having every inch of your body scanned scoped and prodded by countless individuals its hard to remain serious or guarded about anything.
Well, it looks like I stayed logged in this time, so the website may have found that ability again.
Guess we need to start handing out the “who starts the MMP” weekly assignments again. The Internet version of the chore wheel.
It’s 55 amurkin with a predicted high of 73. 100% humidity though, which makes things extra special.
Blurf. Moan.
My name is Inigo Montoya…prepare to die.
Ruble, dog[del]breath[/del]gio, now we just have to work on the how, I vote we do it like a slave who strikes a Roman citizen:
Happy Moonday!
It’s back to being grey, wet, and icky outside. This whole week is predicted to be grey, wet, and chilly. It’s the second week of May and the heat still clicks on at night.
SSDD back when the blurf fades.
My trek from office to kitchen for my lunch takes me within sight of the lobby and the front door. It’s raining. Big surprise. ugh.
Boss hasn’t said anything about me getting a roomie. Dunno if I’ll ask or wait to see how he handles it. Because I’m bored enough to think that could be interesting.
LUNCH!
Spidey, I have more than enough shirts that I have worn once in my life cluttering up the closet, so I think I will pass on your kind thought…besides, how many 6’2", 64 year old balding guys with glasses and a short, white beard will there be at the party? (I really don’t know if I want an answer to that.
Slept in all the way to 0730 this morning (hedonist!).
I lost my passwords and logins for my government computer when I retired, so I had to call DFAS (Defense Finance and Accounting Service) to re-establish my account using my home e-mail. The lady on the phone was patient and competent, even when I wasn’t (transposed two numbers on the temporary password and almost got locked out before I caught it) and now I can check my pay status on-line (and this paycheck, with the cash value of 400 hours of leave, is a doozy). So not found, just replaced.
Rain due on Wednesday/Thursday, but nice and in the 70’s-80’s the rest of the week.
party.
