Dealing with leftovers in the MMP

OK, now I want to know what hotel. Color me curious.

Summary

Boulder Station Hotel and Casino.

It is still raining. The apartment is clean, and all the little critters are sleeping.

Nifty!

DON’T BLINK! :open_mouth:

“I wonder if it will bounce.”

If he keeps it up, he might lose a toe.

Happy Sunday! I’m feeling better and have no idea whence the debilitating exhaustion. Today’s plans include watering plants and dog-proofing the apartment as best I can. Since she know how to open drawers and cupboards, I’ll have to watch her like a hawk. She’s a sweet dog, and I love her dearly, but it’s going to be a long week.

flyboy, great bad review!

misnomer, definitely write a bad review. You’ll be saving other people time and frustration. SOMEthing good should come out of your bad experience, Also, I love the Christmas decor. I won’t decorate until next week, after the dog is gone. I like Christmas decorations, but I’m always relieved when they’ve been put away and everything is uncluttered again.

I like Liberty Cabbage sauerkraut on a reuben sandwich. I think that’s it. I LOVE pierogis, though.

shoe, you’re a good person for brightening people’s days like that. Hope you and The Monk warm up.

Hopefully Gordie is a Bears fan. If he prefers the Vikings, I might have to uninvite him from the barbecue I’m not going to have.

Well, we’re heading home a day early.

We’ve seen cliff dwellings at Mesa Verde National Park. We couldn’t actually go into them because those tours ended for the season a month ago; but we did see them with our own eyes instead of on a TV screen. Today we took a little hike to see the Balcony House. Only 1.1 miles round trip, but A) It’s been a week since I’ve been walking; and 2) 1.1 miles at 8.300 feet is a little different from 3.1 miles at sea level. I wanted to hike some more, but Mrs. L.A. didn’t.

Instead, we decided to head home tomorrow instead of Tuesday. We’re thinking we may avoid snow, and we’ll get to see the kitties a day earlier.

Mexican food for a late lunch/early dinner. I had menudo. We each had two very good margaritas.

teela, your lamb French dip sounds wonderful!

shoe, I don’t know about direct store delivery, but InstaCart will text you for anything that isn’t available and send pics of what is. Also, check out their new pick-up service. I’m with ya on Chewy. Most of what Nelson eats, wears and plays with comes from them.

Made the vegan Italian wedding soup. I like my pork meatballs better, but, hey…the plant based meatballs were $1 for a 14 oz. package, so I thought I’d give them a try.

Howdy Y’all! We deheathenated, got a McN.O,L., which we brought back to da cave, et, accomplished nappage, and day drank out on the back porch. It was a pleasent 70 Amurrkin out with a little breeze, so ‘twas a nice cocktail time. I, just because it needed doin’ and so I can say I was productive, finished up the servers schedule for December and got it emailed out. Go Me! The only reason I can figure out as to why I ever agreed to do that is, since I am retired, have no children or grandchildren, and no pets, I needed to find a source of aggravation. On the plus side, I have some mad Google sheets skillz and make a very nice, concise, easy to read schedule each month. The biiiiiiig trash can has been hauled all the way down to the road for pickup tomorrow. Chillage now ensues.

MOOOOOM those are some neat gifts for RoxStar and the Tobester. I sure they will derive much merriment from them.

Jack nifty slippers there! You be stylin’!

Butters we are all relieved there were no beer explosions.

BooFae hope Ophelia is feelin’ better soonest.

Oopsie love the ornaments!

Cookie is everything intact since Q’itih’s investigation?

shoe I have never heard of a ridin’ leaf blower. Consider some ignernce fought today.

Nellie happy doggy sittin’!

FlyBoy sometimes it’s good to come back a day early and have a little downtime at the domicile.

Happy Sunday!

It’s been a rainy day, and chilly at the park this morning.

Poor Ripple got his tail shut in the car door, he yelped and wanted out to come running to me. My son felt horrible. He is always so careful about their tails.
Ripple seems fine though, pretty soon is tail was back up and wagging.

I am worried about a sore on his leg. It started as a little spot, then cleared up. Then it came back, and then it cleared up. I had thought his harness was rubbing him there and switched him to a collar. It’s been back and forth with it. I made an appointment with the vet for Friday.
I got a spray for it, which he hates. Today it looks horrible. It’s raw and oozing. I wanted to take him to the emergency vet, but they are turning people away because they are overloaded.
The main problem though, is that Echo and Cerby won’t leave it alone. Cerby just started licking at it the day before yesterday, and now it really looks horrible.
I’m going to call the emergency vet back in a while to see if they can accommodate him, otherwise it will have to wait until my vet opens tomorrow. I have a doctor’s appointment myself in the middle of the day, so that might cause a scheduling issue.

Cerby did well at the park today. Yesterday he started showing interest in Jax’s ball. Today Jax’s dad brought two balls and Cerby spent the entire morning playing fetch. He got heaps of praise from everybody when he brought the ball back. I ordered a ChuckIt for him, it should be here today, and I hope that will work to keep him too busy to bark. I also got him a laser pointer that is made for outdoors.
Red, I’d love to have an agility course set up. My yard is too small for that. We’ve talked at the park about getting together and building a few things, but it’s city property, no idea how that would be received. It might attract too many kids too, who would destroy it.

Butters, Terro usually is very good at getting rid of ants. It can also help to put the cat’s food dish in a pan of water. When the ants try to get to the food, they fall in the water and drown. It won’t get rid of the ants, but it will keep your cat from eating ants that are in the food. Or having to throw out ant infested food. The bowl has to be heavy enough that it won’t float on the water.

I love pierogies, but I never learned about them until I got engaged to my ex. My father’s mother made them, but she stuffed them with whatever leftovers there were when money was tight. My father was shocked that I actually wanted to eat them.
I can take sauerkraut in small amounts, and I like stuff that is cooked in it.

Very pretty decorations Ooopsie
Sorry for all the dealership woes. It seems to be the way things are now.

I hope Ophelia is okay BooFae

Congrats on the new work VanGo

Happy Anniversary Allie

Barky/Humpy mom gave me a bunch of leftovers. They were good. She also brought us a whole pecan pie. My son ate a piece and said it was okay. It didn’t last 24 hours. I had two small slivers.

I didn’t get much done today. I managed to wash two loads of clothes, and fuss over Ripple. I put some Bag Balm on his sore, which I guess tastes nasty enough that keeping Echo and Cerby away hasn’t been as much trouble.

MetalMouse, does your family ever have trouble with aggression with the Bloodhounds? I guess not if they are in your lap, but I have heard they are prone to be.

I ordered some Christmas cards, so I guess I am sending them out this year. Like I don’t already have enough to do, let me just pile on more shit. I ordered a bunch of stuff to give my son for Christmas, and most of it is here. I still have to order for the rest of the family. I’ll send everything directly to the armpit.

I’m dreading the doctor visit tomorrow. I have not been doing the things I should be doing.

She’s always been pretty good about not messing with the tree too much. A couple of ornaments have bitten the dust over the years, but mostly she just likes to sit under it.

Well, I did a dumb. I deleted all the photos in my Imgur page, so I guess there will be big blanks in old threads, if anyone ever looks at them. Ticks me off - there were some pics in there that I don’t now if I’d saved anywhere else. Oh well…

Here’s some of what I’ve been doing today:

And now, back to work!!

Glad that Ripple didn’t suffer any long term effects of getting his tail shut sari. Hope that his other owie heals soonest.

Cool puppets Mooooooom.

wow it sounds like that place is just slightly above dump status…

about thanksgiving let’s just say next holiday I think ill just walk up to Dennys or crazy ottos… i can get the same or better food and company at those places

that’s why I sit and watch the shopping on the PC version of instacart and use the chatbox … even tho I still sometimes end up with something sort of close to what I actually required but if they’re out what ya gonna do?

the big boner is when we had that monsoon a few weeks ago we had every holiday decoration out on the uncovered patio and well the boxes that got wet were all of aunt’s “vintage” wall pics and the one big Santa and the reindeer set that you stretch out on the wall that went over a roof she made herself …

So I’m on the outs searching for something that was sold in a pack that hung on a rack in the early to mid-80s with no other identifying marks on it … i found pics and people trying to find it …

Evening all. Been home since about 2pm but just didn’t feel much like doing anything (pretty much a straight 6.5 hour drive) so watched tackleball and soccer and managed to empty the bag and get stuff put in it’s appropriate places. May head off to be bed early, was up about 6:15am (cannot sleep in on a travel day). Tomorrow I should resume the old routine, at least until Christmas time.

I did manage to read all but absorbed little (hope Echo is OK and yeah, these bloodhounds are sofies (but independent; yelling at them (my brother’s method) doesn’t dissuade them much.

OK, need to finish catching up with the internet and thinking about bed. All y’all take care and I’ll catch you on the next MMP.

Your snowflakes are really purty and I like how you are arranging things.

I love having heavy stull like that shipped right to our door. Once you get a feeling for how much you use, you can get the extra discount from auto shipping.

Sounds like how baked goods work around here, LOL!

Loves the octopuss! I’ll bet GG would love it too, but he has been known to love cute things like that way too much.

We got home shortly after lunch. I unpacked and did laundry, then packed up a wood thing to send to Boo. It will be handed over to USPS tomorrow, so please let me know if/when it arrives.

Mom brought a beautiful needle point kit for me that was designed after a quilt square. I’ll take a pic of the front page tomorrow, it out of her stash and only has a small color photograph glued to the front. It is very pretty but is over 30 years old and some of the threads are no longer available so I’m going to have to be really careful about waste. This bites because I’m a really wasteful stitcher. She also gave me a painted canvas piece that was pretty ugly because of the colors but we think that if I use the stitches but make the cats monochrome, it will be fabulous. If I do that, I will need to trace the outline to a blank piece of canvas which isn’t a problem…but will mean that I can see the painted canvas and instructions after I’ve finished my black and silver cats.

It’s only 8 pm, but it feels much later so I’m going head off and find some jammies. Catch you all in the next MMP.

We had fun at the thing, even though the once nice hotel was falling down around our ears. (We were on the 6th floor and the poor hotel staff were starting to try to figure out if it would be cheaper for them to give us the room for another night, or pay Sherpa’s to get us and our stuff down the stairs at check out time.)

Cute puppets!

We had our first guest in the house since February 2020. It inspired us to clean more thoroughly than we have done just for ourselves. She stayed a couple of hours. The cat was ecstatic.

We hope to go on some vacations that we paid for before/during COVID and then cancelled or delayed by us or them, then rescheduled. Fingers crossed for safer options in 2023. Meanwhile, we have tickets to see Kristina Wong, Sweatshop Overlord.

Dog is here, and I managed to distract her from the absence of her person and settle her down. She’s now lying at my feet.

sari, I’m glad Ripple’s tail wasn’t injured. I’m sure it smarted and that you son felt bad, though he shouldn’t, as he’s careful and conscientious and those tails move fast. My son’ s dog had a lot similar spot on her face. It turned out to be a benign cyst, but they had it removed so it wouldn’t get infected when it opened up. I don’t know if that helps you any, but thought I’d pass it along.

VanGo, forgot to say congrats on the job!

@Jack_Batty , I’m coveting your stylin’ slippers! Bob isn’t a slipper-chewer, is he? How IS Bob?

He better not be. I’ll have to keep an eye on him. He’s doing pretty well. He’s got a small mass on his leg that is being ectomied next weekend. It’s a localized thing that they don’t think is malignant and not likely to spread. He’s doesn’t seem to be affected by it at all.

@Sahirrnee tell son not to feel bad there are morons who’ve done worse … that being me

I had a semi-feral kitten that loved to run in and out of our door… well one day we were leaving and mom locked the door and I pulled it shut thinking she was in the living room well she tried being cute but didn’t beat the door all the way and got her tail caught and mom didn’t get the key in time … she chewed the tip of her tail off to get out of the door …so her tail looked like it was squared off … I had to explain that story for years …

After watching some more, I’ve come to the conclusion that it’s more of a leaf shredder?

That or the damn fool is riding a lawn mower in the street. (He was mulching all the oak leaves in the street.)

Still noisy as hell, though, whatever it is.

Poor buddy. Can you pull a small t-shirt on doggo to stop the other pack members from messing with it?

I bet that makes for some beautiful photographs!

Oh, I LOVE the rainbow jellyfish!

So? Pick colors YOU like (that you can easily replace) and then follow the pattern.

Man, tonight was dead we were sooooo bored. Theory is most people blew all their dough on Black Friday “sales” (don’t get me started) plus rent is due in a few days.

On the plus side, hella fast close!

Oh, on the plus-er side, my manager gave me some of her mom’s homemade sghetti’n’sauce to take home. I’ve had it before, and 'tis quite yum. Also, it’s directly in front of me and will dirty no dishes, so I’ll be motivated to have a decent dinner, which should help me sleep better.

Thanks to y’alls recommendation, I started “Wednesday” this afternoon before work, and am looking forward to the next one. It’s just funny enough to be entertaining without me feeling like I’m losing brain cells just watching it, and the dark Addams Family style humor aligns well with mine.

So, I have fun new TV to watch, homemade food all ready for me, the next two days off, and plans for tomorrow evening to spend time with the friend with many cats & a hot tub.

Life could be - and certainly has been - worse. It ain’t perfect, but it’s pretty damn okay at the moment.

I think I’ll celebrate by treating Monkey to some gooshy-food before I settle in. It’ll make his black little heart happy.

… what? He’s a black cat!

Up, caffeinated, and sheveled. Off to heave. See y’all in the next MMP!
