You’re talking to someone with extensive experience with mental illness and a long time history of mental health advocacy so I’m not sure what convenience you think this thought provides me. On the contrary, it forces me to wrestle with the fact that genuine mental illness is often inextricably linked with weird political ideas, but that people also still have to be held accountable for their violent behavior or their encouragement of extremism in the broader political dialog. It’s a fucking headache, man.
