December banning

Oooh, could we have the ‘Member’ designation changed to ‘december’?

I think there are a few posters in this thread who have put in an implicit nomination, but frankly I think they are too coherent.

There is a newbie around (registered this month) who shows promise in putting in hit-and-run conservative posts, but I’ve momentarily forgotten his name.

I meant ‘social liberal’ in a classical sense - not in the sense of supporting a panoply of liberal social programs. I’m a live-and-let-live kind of guy.

Good Lord, people! The Admin has told you why our friend as been relieved of duty on these boards. Don’t you believe it?

For better or worse he is gone. In the words of the song, it may be for a little while or it may be forever, but in any event he is gone and no amount of breast beating and tooth gnashing will fix that. Give it a rest, already. While this thread may give the perennial malcontents and the professional underdogs a place to unload their burden of rage it is taking up a lot of good band width for no good reason.

As far as my personal views are concerned I wish our departed friend all the best. We will however manage to struggle along without him. I am confident that there are any number of apprentice horses asses around here who can assume the mantel of provocateur-in-chief. To coin a phrase, “Bring it on.”

Hmm, is that the first “give it a rest” whine of the thread? Aah,

To everthing turn, turn, turn…

Then you ought to be able to help him find some examples. He’s been asked several times, but has decided to do his usual duck-and-whine routine instead.

Speaking of which, Sam, I did not say you are as bad as december. Please reread before you make a further ass of yourself. Your “debate” style, only loosely grounded in fact at the best of times, is certainly reminiscent of his, as is the constant high power setting on your partisan polarizing glasses (very odd indeed for one of your nationality - note to BeatenDam: Ask him what he is). But you do not troll, and you do not repeat asinine lies after the facts have been rubbed in your face to the point where you can’t avoid them any longer. That’s pretty faint praise, but it’s why he’s gone and you’re still here damning reality for failing to match your ideologies.
Jeff, if you’ll let us know where you are, we can call the police for you. About that guy holding the gun to your head forcing you to read this thread, that is.

Has this thread broken some kind of record for rapid posts? I first noticed it on it’s day-one, it already had several pages!

Whatever you may deem my political stance to be[sup]*[/sup], if I do not view myself as a conservative, why would I be whining about conservatives being persecuted?

  • Seriously other then the Iraq war, what have I posted that’s so conservative?

If you want to continue the exercise in futility, that’s your perogative.

This post should make the number of replies in this thread equal or greater than 407, which happens to be the number of replies to the major response to collounsbury’s banning back in December. That thread took over 8 months to complete.

Sort of curious if any other banning got such a swift and huge response as decembers. What a reward for a convicted troll.

Just to perhaps end it:

Weirddave on abortion,

on international law,

on universal health coverage,

and gays as sinners.
I’m think fiscal conservative, social middleish. Don’t seem to be no neo-con to me. You do seem to rant at “lefty” more than “righty”, imho.

Can someone point me to the thread where december admitted to being “addicted” to GD?

From why is this site so addictive?:

I don’t believe I ever read a word of december’s with which I agreed, but in my experience (which is somewhat limited - I can’t claim to have read anything close to all of his posts) december believed what he was saying. Sometimes he struck me as highly disingenuous, but then, most conservatives do strike me as such from time to time, and I’m sure I strike conservatives the same way. It’s just so hard to believe that someone could sincerely disagree with what seems so patently obvious to oneself!

I don’t think he did anything wrong in his President post; he mislead precisely to demonstrate a point, whether or not we feel that it established that point or not. If he dropped points and moved on rather than humbly admitting that he’d been wrong, well, that seems to be a fairly common debating strategy, isn’t it? And, sorry, but it does make a difference, at least to me, that he was pretty unfailingly polite, even courtly at times, despite being quite viciously insulted by people with whose viewpoints I am in far more agreement.

Furthermore, I found him quite handy. If, as is often the case, I didn’t have enough actual information to know how I felt about a given political situation, I had only to seek out his opinion and voila! I had a stopgap viewpoint (the opposite of his) until I got more information. This could be quite a timesaver.

december, as I told you once privately, you were a gent, and this liberal will miss you! I hope you read this and know that I think fondly of you.

In GD: I’m december – and I am a Dopaholic

Interesting, Squink. He was warned about misplacing threads in the Pit, too.

This board dedicated to fighting ignorance has a lot of lefties for the same reason a garage dedicated to fixing cars has a lot of broken ones.

Thanks, leander and Squink. Didn’t expect to get two different cites, heh.

Maybe this thread should be full of everyones links to favourite decemberisms. He would like that and even if he was a hell-bent, partisan troll-- he was our HBPT.

I wonder if he’s going to continue the “view from here” on a live journal somewhere? Someplace with big fields and lots of Dems to chase.

It didn’t help you

It appears that stopping cold turkey has worked.

Aw, jeez, did I miss a memo again? Is our motto now “Converting lefties to the Righteous Ways of Conservatism since 1973”?

I hate it when they leave me off the mailing list.

[sub]And to think the last time Cecil said anything political, it was rather… unconservative, I’d say.[/sub]

Scylla, you might take a look in the mirror yourself, at long last. Couldn’t hurt. Might also help your own duck-and-whine problem, except with you it’s disguised as duck-and-curse. But it’s no more respectable than what december did, or what Sam still does.

Still waiting for those examples, kids. Retractions will do too, of course. But I’m not holding my breath waiting for either from any of you.
Anybody got an idea where the guest of honor has gone to, or how he’s managed to blame his banning on the Democrats?
