Decision 2004: SDMB ultra-prelim straw poll

Not Bush. Not sure who yet, but not Bush.

NOT BUSH!. I’ll vote for Kerry, Dean , Gebheart, in that order. General Clark, maybe. I’ll certainly not throw away my vote on some marginal, protest Green candidate. Bush got where he is by splitting the “Not Bush” vote between the idealists and the pragmatists.

What really needs to be done is to convince the electorate that they are not voting for Home Coming King, here.

Bush to save the country from Presidents Kucinich, Mosely-Braun, and Sharpton.

Not Bush if anyone else gets the nomination.

I shall mark your words, sir.

And Iwill be serving you a steaming dish of crow next November.

If the majority had said they would vote for Bush, would you still be calling this unscientific?

Choice B: Not Bush

Clark, Dean or Hillary.

Not Bush.

I’d probably vote Libertarian, if I vote at all (I’ll have to register next year).

I’d vote for a Democrat if he:
-repeals the Patriot Act
-supports Israel (especially the security wall)
-gets the troops out ASAP without saying the war was a mistake
I don’t like Lieberman because of his stance on censorship, but I’m not sure if he’d win the primary anyway.

Oh, and to all of those who want a Democratic alternative, Lyndon LaRouche is running as one.

Fortunately none of them have a snowball’s chance in hell of being the Democratic Party’s candidate anyway.

If someone had written a book which attempted to caricature the world’s concept of the Ugly American, they would have been hard pressed to match what Bush has done to the world in real life. I’m tired of having to apologize to my overseas relatives for this asshole.

Not Bush.
Dean… but more importantly: anybody but Bush.

Try being an American abroad, t. I spend so much time disowning GWB that one of my friends once complained that he can’t tell me the sky is blue without me saying “Don’t blame me, I didn’t vote for him.”

Lieberman is most certainly not just a Democratic version of Bush. He is pro-abortion, more liberal than conservative when voting on economic issues, pro-animal rights, supportive of the NAACP, generally supportive of NOW, and votes in favor of many liberal groups.

NOT Bush.

I’d like to see Clark, Dean, or Kerry get the nomination. I think I’m hoping mostly for Clark.

Knorf

With 0.002 percent of polls reporting we are declaring Not Bush the winner by a landslide! Not Bush will take the SD electorate votes by a margin of 35 to 5. However, as Jeb Bush and the SCOTUS well know the election is far from decided.

The battle for Democratic nominee was closer than expected with granola loving, angry-man, Dean taking a healthy lead, but the mysterious General Clark followed not far behind, Senator Kerry is hanging on by a hair plucked from his luxurious silver mane, and Koko the sign-language gorilla made a surprise appearance as a write-in. Koko’s handler’s claim he is not currently interested in entering the race, but given Arnold Schwarzenegger’s recent political success he has been giving the prospect a long hard look.

Just to chime in, what I like about Dean is precisely the “angry man” thing. Too many of the Dems of late have been, well, wussies.

Not Bush.

I like like Clark, hopefully he can stop bumbling away.

Not Bush!

Dean is my favorite (I already have his bumper sticker on my car!) but I’ll vote for any Dem except Lieberman. If Lieberman wins the primary, I think I’ll have to flee to Canada

-Andrew L

Really? But you haven’t fled from Bush!!!

One of my biggest disappointments in life just happened this year… at age 45, I discovered that you’re not allowed to immigrate into Australia if you’re older than, ummmm, 45. :smack: Moral of the story: if you’re planning on fleeing to another country, better do your immigration research now!

Not Bush.

First choice would be Clark, then Kerry.

Not Bush.

I would vote for Leatherface if I thought he had a shot at unseating the current administration.

Not really.

B: NOT BUSH

Perhaps Clark? I haven’t decided.

I did consider voting for Bush just to see how far he’ll make a mess of things, but I changed my mind and figured 4 years Bush damage is a pretty big mess to clean up.
