Biden is just as old, Trump and Sanders are Sanders is older… and I’m betting they’ll all run, too.
Stubbornness beats age.

This is the danger the Democratic Party faces. If the progressives force out the moderates, their party might gain power, but they will alienate people just as effectively as the Republicans currently are.
Right now, the Democrats are the reasonable party that anyone can safely vote for. What’s going to happen when both major parties have alienated the center? If you think American politics are unstable now, wait until the center doesn’t feel safe voting for either party.

It depends on who will rise to the top of the DNC’s presidential food chain. Hillary may be the best candidate that the DNC can muster up?
Plus, Chelsea’s political career needs all of the clout that Hillary can provide. Just between you and me, I believe Bill has retired from the real world, and won’t be able to provide much political help going forward.
Yeah, but people are stupid, so expecting them to not look at the wreck on the side of the road is just wishful thinking. I think what posters here are saying is that Hillary should get out of the spotlight. It’s on her.
I remain unconvinced enough people are interested in “safe” votes. Blowing up the system seems popular on both sides, for reasons I haven’t completely grasped.
I hope “reasonable” comes back in fashion.
ETA: I hold no grudge against Hillary, but I’d prefer she adopt “elder statesman” profile and not try to lead the party.
Bernie’s not so bad but his Bernie Bros and Sandernistas brought in a Trump victory. They eagerly swallowed and reposted every vile lie, half-truth and propaganda that Rove and the Russians came out. They had nothing good to say about Sanders, just how bad Hilary was. This made many vote 3rd party or stay home.
Why start now?
I agree. And the political system is going to become more and more unstable as those looking for safe votes become fewer.
We desperately need new blood. All those people in their 40’s and 50’s in the party need to start stepping up and shoving the 70-something’s out of their leadership positions.
If Clinton runs in 2020 I think it is safe to say that Trump bribed her to do so.
I’m not American, and I think it is time for Hillary to retire. She can only hurt the Democratic party.
Take a deep breath.
If you want to start a thread about what a vile shitbag Bernie is, go for it, but frothing at the mouth is not becoming, particularly in a thread that hadn’t mentioned Sanders at all until you decided to turn it into a tired referendum about how Sanders is the worst human on the planet.
Absolute, bumbling incompetence at running two campaigns* beats either of those two. And Hillary is simply unable to run a campaign.
*Bill? Arguably the best campaigner of my lifetime with JFK, Reagan and Obama in the next tier. Hillary is down somewhere below Bob “Bob Dole refers to himself in the third person and uses viagra” Dole and Walter Mondale, the Ambien that walks like a man. She’s even below Lyndon LaRouche as a campaigner. He was batshit nuts, but at least he didn’t make it seem like he was being made to drink nasty medicine when he campaigned.
I was unaware she was in the spotlight. I literally only hear about her from people defending Trump. Sure, she may be speaking, but is she showing up in any national news or anything?
I don’t have any problem with her choosing to speak, as long as she’s not trying to set up another run or influence Democratic policy. Ever since I heard about her husband telling her to go after the white working class and her refusal, I’ve thought she just didn’t have what it takes.
She’s not a bad person, IMO. And, against Trump, that should have counted. But there must be better out there. People who can push the Democratic message that we’re the only ones actually trying to help the working class poor, too.

I’m young and I’m cool with being called a liberal (but not libtard har har har), and I don’t really have hope in H. Clinton. I voted for her because I put my money where my mouth is, but, I mean, come on. I don’t really trust her because she has baggage. And when she talks good stuff now, and I go back and see some her other words and actions, I can forgive that, of course. But I am not a forgive-and-forget person. I’m a forgive-and-learn person. And I learned, after my cognitive dissonance, that H. Clinton isn’t the person I should put my hope in as a young, under privileged black woman struggling to get some class mobility going for me and mine. But if she’s my best bet, then she’s my best bet.
I just keep finding myself thinking, “There’s got to be someone better. Someone clean.” But I guess nobody’s clean because politics. Something politicians and businessmen have in common is that they can be moved by money. That’s something ya girl ain’t got. So… I’d rather move on to a step better than H. Clinton. Something about 2 out of 3 losses makes me wanna say screw a 3rd try. But if she came up again and she talks a good game, my money is obviously on her. And my fingers would be crossed that the popular vote actually means something.
She was very entitled. She almost seemed offended that she had to run for the job.
She is competent, smart and hard working but I literally know HUNDREDS of people that fit that description. The only thing Hillary Clinton has on them is that Bill Clinton is her husband. What fucking use is a politician that can’t win elections?
