See, I think that it’s the opposite. I think that Der posts so much about how he hates America and Americans so that he can make himself feel better. He’s not like those bad Americans, and he’s got the courage to call them out. So he doesn’t have to actually do anything, but by hating Americans enough he proves that he’s a better sort of person.
Kind of like Conspiracy Theorists. They don’t have to change society or even get up off of their couch, but by hating the right people and holding the right mythical worldview, they’re better people.
It’s the exact same syndrome as the guy who hates Muslims. He can list all the bad things done by Muslims, and his hate for them makes him feel warm and tingly inside.
Copy/Paste for Jews, Mexicans, Gays, Blacks, Japs, Chinamen, or whatever.
I didn’t make any charges about him. But there are a lot of people here who say they agree with him. I don’t think they’ve paid much attention to his posts about Americans. I’m waiting to hear what they have to say about the cites in this thread.
This is one reason it’s so interesting to me that he never, to my knowledge, has mentioned any romantic relationship of any kind, straight or gay. I don’t know if he has any experience in these matters or if he’s just talking out of his ass.
He certainly has said that he has no interest in ever getting married or having children.
Well, I suppose you can say that if you’re optimistic. I don’t see any improvement. I do see he’s gotten colder and less fiery in his rhetoric, but I don’t exactly consider that a good thing.
I still recall he decalred he knew he had a high chance of being executed in a Christianist Concentration Camp. I never really had anythig to say to that one.
Well, comfortable as it may be here on your tits, the fact of the matter is that if X isn’t a race, then people who find X objectionable aren’t racists. “Racist” and “bigot” are perfectly good words and should be applied correctly.

I’ve often wondered if he is really an atheist at all. He seems like someone who is just angry with God. Maybe he lost someone he loved dearly and blames God. Just so much hate that it seems almost phony.
That’s the one thing I wouldn’t doubt him on about being an atheist. And I don’t think he hates what he doesn’t think exists. Personally, I find him entertaining as hell on most religious matters.
I get the impression that he prefers to post his (borderline board policy breaking) attacks on certain groups in other forums so that those who prefer to respond to them in the vein they deserve cannot do so without doing some extra work, such as making a pit thread and then linking to it in the other forum’s thread.
I’ve gotten to the point where I can’t get mad at Der Trihs anymore. It’s like watching South Park or something: there’s just so much offensive stuff that you can’t take it seriously.

I’ll add Pro-lifers, or anyone who wants any restrictions at all on abortion. He got me on my very first post, when I was merely agreeing with Cecil’s article.
