Whoa, whoa, whoa… DT doesn’t like Theists or Christians!? Where the fuck have I been?
Der Trihs
Fighting Rational Thought since 2005
(It’s Taking Longer Than We Thought)
Atheists are often accused of this, and I’ve never see an example of it being true.
Yeah, the whole “I believed in God until my brother died” or whatever seems to be a movie trope and not necessarily rooted in reality- at least in comparison to how often atheists are accused of it. A pair of religious women (Mormon maybe? I know they travel in pairs of males and females but do the girls wear uniforms like the guys? Because these two weren’t in uniform) came to my door two or so years ago. I politely told them that I was an atheist and wasn’t interested, hoping that would be the end of the matter, but they proceeded to ask if it was because of all the bad things that happen in the world. I’m not sure if they asked that because they encountered it often or because they already had a rationalized response to that prepared.
That would certainly be Jack Chick’s take on him.
I think the Chickster would say it was because he was attacked by demons. HAW! HAW! HAW!
Of course in the Gospel According to Jack Chick demons are responsible for everything from sour milk to feeling not so fresh.
Or maybe it’s Catholics.

Shodan
I think it’s Jedis. Or Missi Dominici.
I do believe Der Trihs has said he has no religious friends because he “doesn’t trust them”.
Um, okay.
Yes, I believe he said something that all Christians secretly want to exterminate atheists in camps or something like that.
Unless he’s talking about camps for annoying dickhead nutjobs?
His logic, I believe, is that Christianity as a religion says that atheists should be converted or killed; thus, if a Christian doesn’t believe in it, they aren’t sufficiently believing in their religion to be actually Christian.
I believe something about bagpipes comes to mind…?
Nearly.
It’s the sociopath who lives next door.
No, I think his problem is with religion/religious people, not with God. I’m not qualified to psychoanalyze someone over the Internet; but if I were speculating, I’d guess he has a bit of paranoia or persecution complex, possibly brought on or exacerbated by bad experiences with religious people.
I have no problem with his stance on Americans. While I might phrase it less … colourfully, shall we say…it pretty much jibes with my own opinion that America is just no damn good.
Not that some of my best friends aren’t American, mind you. Oh wait, no, they’re Canadian…
Congratulations, you’re not a racist! (you’re a bigot)
Now if it was an issue with those uppity South Africans that’d be an entirely different matter. You’ve just got to hate the correct group of people, is all.
You hate the vast majority of posters on this board?
And not just that, but you [MrDibble] think the vast majority of posters on this board are near-sociopaths?
Why do we think he is intelligent?
No. Why should one logically follow from the other? Sounds like Fallacy of Division to me.
Once again, I am missing the logical connection or you’re commiting the same fallacy as Kong.
I’m not a bigot - bigotry is irrational. My dislike for (collective) America is entirely based on sound reasons, such as its past warmongering actions and current popular rhetoric.
Oh, Finn, when will you realize I’m no nationalist. Am I supposed to bridle at any negative mention of South Africa? Didn’t you learn your lesson in that last Israeli espionage thread? You’re so* cute *when you attempt to tu quoque with the big boys, yes, you are!
You have to admit that’s not the best argument you could come up with. Most of the posters are defintely near-sociopaths (whatever their nationalities, I might add).
Bigotry, like racism, indicates literal flaws in the function of an otherwise healthy mind. It is little surprise that you babble your hatred and your bigot-brain cannot comprehend what that means about your targets.
Ah, the Bigot’s Lament. “Yes, I hate blacks (except for the good ones), but they deserve it because they are bad.” “Sure I hate Jews (except the good ones who denounce the evils of Jewry), but that’s because Jews cause anti-Semitism by their actions.”
“I’m not a racist, my group-hatred is rational!”
Poor, broken bigot-brain.
You’re not a nationalist, you say, so you remain unphased if bigotry is directed at a nation. You are unable to comprehend that it’s the bigotry that is objectionable and not the national pride that must be defended. And you’re so stupid that you believe I used a tu quoque. To say nothing if your grasping obsessions over threads years past. Poor fool.

Ah well, posting from an iPod is not ideal. Neither is having a broken brain that tells you it’s okay to hate groups as long as it’s based on nationality and not race. Such is life.
