I believe it’s finally a new one tonight–the aftermath of the tornado that tore through Wisteria Lane and wiped out Mrs. McCluskey’s house.
Lynnette will be searching frantically for Tom and the kids.
We’ll see…
I completely forgot it was new and I didn’t watch it. I remembered at 10pm and went to Television Without Pity but there was no recap yet so I read the boards. It looks like I was right about who died, no shocker there. But some of the other comments make me feel like I missed some good bits. I suppose they will probably rerun it soon since they don’t have much else to work with.
I hadn’t watched an episode all season, but there wasn’t anything else on last night so I watched it. I was pleasantly surprised. And it was easy to jump right back in after missing half the season.
I would think Tom would have been hurt, since he was passed out and unable to get under the stairs.
I found the Bree/Susan interaction touching, and I’m glad they explored that, even if it did squick me out that Bree would be willing to pimp out her son for a new roof (and window!)
Gabby and Carlos need to go away, or at least get a better storyline. I refuse to believe that Carlos cannot fly to the Caymans, show the appropriate ID, and get access to his offshore accounts. Give me a break.
So, Dillon knows The Secret, but we don’t yet. Grrr…
I support GO AWAY. Gabby at least. Carlos could still be usable without her.

No surprise there. They really like to drag these things out.
Prediction: Dylan isn’t the first Dylan. She’s a replacement who was adopted and given the name of their daughter which is why she doesn’t remember any of her earlier life.
Well of course it’s silly.
I also found it remarkable that no Scavo was severely injured. The part about Ida was touching, however.
Funny and desperate scenes with Bree and Orson re: Andrew. They couldn’t be subtle if they tried.
What does the reference to Kanagawa mean?
And I know Gabby had to leave Victor’s funeral to avoid being totally humiliated by BJ, but you would think she could have at left fled the church crying hysterically, to put to rest any curiousity about why the Mayor’s widow is strolling out of the church just before the service is supposed to start.
But that would have required acting ability.
Welcome to Kanagawa is a Sondheim song from Pacific Overtures (Most of Desperate Housewives’ titles come from Sondheim songs). The song itself is sung by a madam and her prostitutes getting ready for the Americans to land. (The show is about the “opening” of Japan by Perry.)
What bank? There are probably hundreds of banks there. Should he just hop from island to island going into each bank with a passport seeing if there is an account in his name and oh by the way he doesn’t know the account number or the passcode?
My prediction: Gabby dumps Carlos when she finds out that he’s blind. After she dumps him, someone a few miles away finds enough of the paperwork that blew away to find Carlos and give the info to him. Alternatively, Edie, who perused the docs, remembers enough to give Carlos what he needs to access the money. Carlos is rich and Gabby is screwed again.
I have thought from the beginning of this storyline that Dillon killed her father, like in a situation where he was beating her mom so it was justifiable, and has PTSD related amnesia. He Mom is doing everything she can to keep the memory from her daughter to protect her. It’s a twist on the Lana Turner deal which has been done a few times before in fiction.
Who here does not think Mike is going to come back either more screwed up than when he left or perhaps brainwashed to become a sort of sleeper agent for an evil therapist?
This was the last written episode before the writer’s strike, so we’re not going to know for a while. Grr…stupid writer’s strike.
Granted, I don’t know a lot about offshore accounts, but surely he knows where he stashed his own money? Unless he handed a briefcase to Al and said, “Take care of it.”
He had Al move it so that Edie wouldn’t know where it was. Al gave the only copy of the new info to Edie thinking that she was Gabby. That copy blew away in the storm, Al is dead and Al’s wife shredded anything having to do with offshore accounts.
I think the original Dylan died at the hands of the mom, and Dylan #2 was “aquired” to replace her.
If that was true, why did the other girl immediately recognize her?
I don’t remember her actually recognizing her. I imagine because everyone was calling her Dylan, Julie assumed it was Dylan. Why would she suspect she was someone else?
My immediate first guess was that she was Dylan #2 also. I don’t remember Julie recognizing her, but being told that this was Dylan. Julie was surprised at all the things Dylan didn’t remember.
Julie is a pretty smart kid. I think she would have recognized (or not recognized) a replacement, especially since she said they were best friends.
