Desperate Housewives 12/4

You know, used to be a time we’d find a thread about our Wisteria Lane Ladies at 10:01pm on Sundays. Are we losing the love?

I thought Lynette was actually quite good in this, taking the baby into her office with her and making Mindy’s parents talk to each other. I want to see Gabby and Sister Mary get into a fight, and Andrew just absolutely skeeves me out.

Too little Edie, I felt very sorry for Carol and her cheating husband, and I want to see Susan’s father and her mother meet up. Anyone know why Susan was painting over the H and the O and leaving the W? I would have started with the W, but that’s just me.

I don’t know, the writing in this show is just going downhill. The whole jealousy/manipulation of Gaby and Carlos is almost a caricature of himself. The whole egg allergy/yellow fever vaccine was easy to spot a mile away. And Bree’s son using her confession as his weapon against her…Susan admitting to her dad’s wife she’s his daughter, etc. It was all predictable and uninteresting. I’m losing my faith in this show and am starting to not care how anything turns out with the characters.

I enjoy the show, but I don’t really consider it a watercooler show. Lost is a watercooler show even though I don’t give a damn about it any more.

I didn’t hate Lynnette. That’s a first!

I’m just not getting Andrew. He wants something on his mom to use against her, so is he forgetting his tiny little mistake of Vehicular Homicide? Sure Mama Solis actually recovered from her injuries and died from hospital negligence but I think he could still be tried for homicide. And he already has something on his mom from that since she helped cover it up, then again he has to hang himself to use that. But why try to get anything on her when she has that to hold over his head?

From the previews it looks like Bree brings that up when Andrew tries to blackmail her. Still, how stupid is he?

It depends on who she’s talking to. If she’s talking to Goldfine it’s covered by doctor/patient privilege, right?

I hope this isn’t one of those scenarios where the writers forgot what they did last season and go off on some new tangent, continuity be damned.

I’ve enjoyed the show, but I think it’s going to die this year, or next. The convoluted plot lines are already beginning to wear and will eventually be the show’s demise. Teri Hatcher is cute, but Felicity Huffman inspires lust in me. Bill Macy is a lucky guy.

Felicity’s in a movie that’s due to be released…Transamerica or something. She plays a M-F transsexual who finds out that she had a son she never knew she had back when she was a man.

What on earth are the Applewhites going to do with Clem? Put him back in the basement? For how long?

The guy who’s looking for him will probably end up getting killed, and then they’ll have a body to hide.

IMHO that’s a stupid story line, so far anyway.

I thought the dude with the ball gag and the syringe was hired by Betty. Why would someone else be looking for him? I need to stop falling asleep during the show I guess.

Good question!

I thought maybe he was a bounty hunter.

I think the writers thought we forgot. Andrew will attempt to blackmail Bree; she’ll counter with the Mam Solis thing. Gasp.

This was also my first episode where I didn’t hate Lynette. As soon as her boss said that his kid was the last holdout for child care, my first thought was: Lynette will hatch a convoluted scheme to come between the child and her mother, to promote her own selfish ends; like she does every week; and it’ll backfire, like it does every week. So I was pleasantly surprised that it played out slightly differently.

Private investigator/Revenge Kidnap-Murderer, hired by associates of the girl who got killed.

I wonder if he really killed her, though. All he’s said directly about it was “She was a bad person. She deserved to die.”

Maybe she was involved with some underworld-type folks who killed her and planned on using the “slow” fella as a fall gu and perhaps arranging his death, too. Now they’ve got to track him down before he lets slip whatever it is he knows about the situation.

Thanks, I completely missed that.

Geez, I must have been sleeping too. Was this made clear? All I remember is the two guys talking about using a ball gag that had teeth marks in it.

Yeah, this show has really gone downhill. Last week’s ep was good, but other that-- pretty crappy. The whole Applewhite subplot is ridiculous. It’s like the writers felt they need to include a Black family, and just tacked it on. There is no integration (pardon the pun) with the rest of the plot. So many people have died at this point, that Wisteria lane would be absolutely **crawling **with cops and FBI agents by now.

I was in the process of starting a thread, typed out an OP and everything, and realized I didn’t really have anything to say. I figured if I was bored by my own ost, why inflict it on anyone else?

Not that that’s ever stopped me before…

Yeah, boring osts are the orst.

I HAD TO DO IT! Sorry!

I orgive you.

And why would Clem be so trusting of Betty and Matthew after they’ve been keeping him imprisoned, and effectively tortured?

Thanks, man. I won’t orget this.

I don’t think he’s been “effectively tortured” at all. He’s been restrained and imprisoned, yes, but not tortured. And I think he knows that it’s been for his own good, to protect him from himself, which is why he continues to trust Mom and Bro – especially now that he’s been imprisoned/hospitalized for real, and realizes that he can’t take care of himself.
