Mama Solis’ gambling problem has gone on for years according to Carlos. We only saw her gambling twice, and the second time she lost thousands. She may still have a good insurance policy (paid for by her son?). And Gabrielle is going to get pregnant soon because her no-good husband has swapped all her birth control pills for sugar.

Of course, assuming she should die and they look through her belongings and find that lottery ticket she bought a few months ago…didn’t hubby say something about “we have always been lucky people”?

I like the Gay substory. Don’t see many of those on soaps (although even The O.C. has a Lesbian story now). I don’t think Gay will go away in a hurry, as I am so looking forward to Bree’s initial shock, and then hosting a group of PFLAG members to a 16 course sit down dinner while her husband is chained to the bed posts upstairs.

Here’s how I’m reading it: Deirdre’s dad knows that Mike is involved with Susan, and he’s pissed about it, either because he feels Mike is betraying Deirdre or because he thinks Mike is stalling on his investigation. So, he paid off this cop to bring in Susan and tell her the details about Mike’s past, getting her to break up with him, so that Mike can continue his investigation without distractions.

To me, the simplest answer is that Deirdre’s dad is paying the cop so that Mike doesn’t get thrown in the slammer. Clear him of any suspicion in Ms. Huber’s death and also clear him of suspicion in the home invasion case where Mike was shot.
